After some long (and very good!) discussions, the @CoMaps project has voted to adopt a slightly modified version of the "AI" usage guidelines that the @forgejo project created and passed last year! πŸ₯³

When you try to get rid of LGPL, but LLMs generate no copyrightable works and you accidentally have gone from LGPL to Public Domain (and then you slap a license on it which you couldn’t do in the first place).

Deciphering Glyph :: What Is Code Review For? Deciphering Glyph, the blog of Glyph Lefkowitz.

I've seen a lot of people talking about the practice of code review in a way that I consider unrealistic lately. So here are my thoughts on what code review isβ€”and isn'tβ€”for: https://blog.glyph.im/2026/03/what-is-code-review-for.html

The Unbearable Sameness of 'AI' During our trip down in Patagonia last week, we passed by many road signs, barriers at viewpoints, trash cans etc. that were sticker bombed by the many visitors that pass by. I wrote about the unbearable sameness of "AI" generated outputs, how it's a 'logical' extension of the algorithmic social media paradigm, and why we should push back against both.

Tried uploading images to WM commons via vicuΓ±a today.

Unfortunately it doesn't make use of the description as provided in the image EXIF data either, and it can be a bit buggy.

But at least it makes finding and reusing categories as well as descriptions once typed out quite easy. Plus it can […]

Fun geography quirk due to how much more north all the landmasses (excluding Antarctica) are: this trip to Santa Cruz brought me as far south as I've ever been – and yet it's still closer to the equator than the town I was born in: -50.55 vs 51.96.
