Not The Gathering, The Drift. The Gathering was last month and also brilliant. This is what happens when Blue Sky loses your message mid first draft 😭

February wrap up. 3 books less than Jan, but darker sci-fi vibes. Highlights were The Gathering by C.J. Tudor, perfect mix of vampire horror meets Nordic noir. Red Rising by Pierce Brown, though I had issues with the chauvenism, I enjoyed the socialist themes & was unadulterated escapism

I have a new MP since last time I wrote to mine, and not a tory any more, I hope they don't let me down πŸ™πŸ»

The New York Times wakes up on Monday after a complete shit show of a week and year generally, and thinks, hmmm what questions really need asking today? I know, I know what does the world need right now?....White jeans. May whoever wrote this get inappropriate stains on their white trousers for life

🚨MPs are back from recess today, so send yours an email urging them to attend the #LongCovid APPG meeting on Wednesday this week (26th Feb.)!

Sure, I'd hazard a guess at some mystical cure involving bean farts, a charm, a magic spell and curses complete with a daily dance, some expensive powder of broccoli masking as a supplement for 3000 quid, a sprinkling of bullshit and random pure luck πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Oh I selected this variant too along with hyponatremia thrown in.Especially fun to play with medical professionals who don't believe in the symptoms full stop or think they're not a big deal.Or those that go lets treat the symptoms, do blood tests, then give up and treat nothing. Can we unsubscribe?

Little late with my January wrap up, been in a LC crash the past couple of weeks. It's been a Scotland/Jacobite themed historical fiction mood apparently this month. Highlights were Jasper Fforde & Kate Foster. February has started with non-fiction in the form of David Mitchell's Unruly

I wasn't either untill today but I seem to be reading it everywhere now. I adore Buffy and I'm rewatching with my kids at the moment, so a reboot seems like a way for more Buffy right now, but the reality may be disappointing and miserable, like Gladiator mark II (apparently, I'm refusing to watch)

Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot is apparently afoot with Sarah Michelle Gellar, what are we all thinking? Im not usually one for a remake, but I'm surprised to find myself excited by this plan

Like many, my long covid clinic in Derby could no longer offer me their services and my rehab classes came to an end last summer. You just feel alone and adrift with noone to turn to. I manage to work from home with my symptoms so I really feel for those who are less able in a similar boat

Daily I lament the fact we have to work. I really do like my job as jobs go, but I think I was meant to be retired πŸ˜‚That sounds just lovely, and a perfect relaxed afternoon. Not sure if you're able to play anything at work, but I find listening to meditation or positivity shizz on Calm app helpful

I struggle Sundays and the last day after holiday too with my mental health, and I dont even do shifts like you plus I work from home. I hope the reality is better than your brain is expecting today. Try plan some self care the day today and little things to look forward to break up the 3 week run

Snap, I just finished it last night, and similar story with the impact of Shades of Grey and around a decade of recommendations and regular checks for the long-awaited release of yhe sequel. I woke up thinking about it early this morning, it stays in your brain like a worm

Give it a go I think you might like it, its mild dystopia, but funny, with a very British sense of humour throughout

I like some Romantasies, I think the ones I saw weren't for me. I don't mind a little bit of romance if there has to be some, but I like the focus on fantasy, so I think I'm not the right market. I'm not a fan of tiktok either and after trying I left, maybe I was following the wrong people!

Ahhh well if you like surreal and strange but beautiful (and subtitled) , this is the series for you. Noone hate me for the really weird bits though please, I put my fingers in my ears for those bits and they went away eventually πŸ˜‚ hopefully not to return episodes 7 and 8

Oh i really enjoyed Book 1, one of the few 'viral' recommendations from BookTok that I didn't hate immediately, or keep reading in hopes that it would finally get good (way too many Romantasies to list here)

Yeh most people who haven't travelled much in deer country at night laugh at me about that night, it was so scary though. You just wait though, they are watching and waiting, probably on a cliff side waiting for you to trip πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Anyone else discovered the magiclal surreal delight that is One Hundred Years of Solitude on Netflix yet or just me? I literally fell upon it, and I'm really enjoying it 6 episodes in, but haven't heard anything about it anywhere. Always been tempted by the book but it seems to be a love/hate thing

Oh same here πŸ˜‚ we did that as my mum and aunt were teachers, and then we also did lots of folk festivals where we didnt see them for the whole week (it was the 80s/90s 😏). I think I complained at the time why wernt we going to Spain like other kids, but have some good memories
