GOOOOD MORNING BLUESKY IT IS LAUNCH WEEK.
We've got lots of fun stuff leading up to our premiere on Friday, including revealing the episode titles and descriptions for season one.
The casting call is now closed of *holy shit* did y'all turn out for this one.
Please be patient cause it's going to take us a minute to work through all these.
I've gotten a couple of questions about exact time stuff so let me clarify. "Midnight on the 3rd" is technically tonight and I'm on MST (GMT -7:00). There's actually a little grace period even after midnight. They form will time out when auditions are no longer being accepted.
Desdemona Blackwood is the reliable one. The good one. The one on which any of her siblings, her father, her late mother, could heap all the troubles and responsibilities that needed to be taken care of.
She's ready for a hand grenade to go off in her life.
Find out more at the link above.
"As I was swung about, I saw a woman in the throng. A black and iridescent crow in a flock of pheasants. Eyes like a forge glinted out from a fur lined hood. The look on her face was the one entomologist get when they have a particularly delightful specimen at the end of a pin."
We cap off our character highlight for phase 1 casting with
The Pillar
breakaleg.library.horse/the-pillar
Councilor is wide open.
The Accomplice speaks a conlang is therefor kinda a special case. breakaleg.library.horse/orlekra-guide/
Yes! But only for some characters. Should be on their individual character pages but the gist is:
The Pillar: English or Transatlantic preferred. American accents considered.
The Fuck-up: English
The Fiend: American.
Arcadia Blackwood is the youngest of her siblings. She is family - enforcer is the wrong word - She is the family weapon. And it is behind the wall of her violence that they have flourished. But the wall has cracks.
Learn about The Fiend and other characters at the link above.
"I found my quarry doing chin-ups with an engine block hanging from a chain across her shoulders. She was tall enough to see over the heads on a busy street. The muscles of her bare arms coiled like anchor chains under two tattooed swords as she lifted herself and half a ton of metal into the air."
Continuing with our character highlights from the Phase 1 casting call.
Let's talk about The Fiend

Algernon Blackwood is many things, a lush, an indulger of drugs, a whore-monger, an incompetent underworld capo, and bearer of a stupid little mustache. At least, that's what everyone thinks. Are they right? Is that all?
Find out in a few months when this show comes out.
"He was handsome, in that casual way that takes a great deal of money to be. A slim build and midnight black hair that had been impeccably styled at some point today but now was a roguish dishevel. He wore a powder pink smoking jacket and a smarmy little smirk just below a pencil-thin mustache."
Ok, continuing our Character highlights from the phase 1 casting call. Let's talk about The Fuck-Up.

The Councilor is a taciturn man, used to giving an receiving orders and doing what needs doing. And he's a preeminent Unnaturalist, a maker of monsters.
Find out more about him and the rest of the characters of It Takes a Wolf at the link above.
"His hair had once been thick and black as cast iron but the years had thinned it and turned it to steel. And although he had a little softness about the middle, from his forearms it was obvious that whatever strength he'd had in youth had not faded with his hair. "
Continuing our character hightlights for the Phase 1 casting called, let's talk about Brakatt, the Councilor

We end week 9 with our showrunner, @melnichols.bsky.social, who feels very weird posting about herself and will be going now, ok bye.
The Accomplice speaks in a creole called Orlekra (literally "our language") by native speakers and "gobbo" by everyone else. Orlekra and english are inter-intelligible, when the phases of the moon line up. You can find more info on pronunciation here:

"An ideal accomplice is many things: quick, tight lipped, subtle, and above all exceedingly loyal. Bex had the first three in spades but the last... well... She had all the loyalty of a falling knife."
Bex is a goblin, a petty thief, and generally a little shit. Which is why we love her.
We've got just about a week left on the casting call, so I think it's high time we did some character spotlights! Let's start with
Bex, the Accomplice
