Fair, but they do have overheads. For an occasional article, I’d probably absorb that. Maybe a whole day’s access? Of course, you rapidly reach the point where a subscription is more cost effective, but that’s the point.

Yeah, but I find it hard to believe that with many shops going cashless (a different topic for debate), where I routinely pay contactless for items under a fiver -- and so does everyone else -- that having £1 or £2 button to read "this article" is that problematic?

I think he previously blogged about someone looking-up email addresses in HIBP as a way to verify they were legitimate and not fake, on the same grounds, that all emails in actual use must have already been breached!
