The biggest of the tax breaks are gone, but still good deals around - though finding a quality installer is key, IMO. My only other advice is to buy it outright, if you can. It's a massive investment but I was not going to allow any company to own my roof and/or put a lien on my house!

hence, solar. by my fuzzy math, it will pay for itself within 7 years, assuming rates stay the same (and they will go up, surely)
summer months have been $1-2k/month on average - we have a pool that runs 12 hours a day, and AC that is pretty much 24/7 starting in April because we are penguins apparently
lol no - all radiant and baseboard! NJ rates are just stupid. my gaming PC probably is the most thirsty device, but otherwise have multiple TVs and devices streaming constantly, kids who never turn off lights, and almost constant dishwasher, laundry, and oven baking...
The solar we installed before end of year just went live in mid-February, so even with all of the snow (~4 ft), cloud cover, etc., our Jan bill of $390 dropped to $21 in Feb...🤯
