One of my favorite photos is of my friend Derek here on Fort St. The Ambassador Bridge is in the background with trucks backed up waiting to cross into Windsor, Ontario, because that's what trucks on the bridge do.

I found this last year on eBay of all places. It's almost guaranteed that my great-grandfather, or possibly even my grandpa, had held this in his hands at one point.

It's #ThingThursday and I'm sharing this WWII era pin-up girl matchbook from my great-grandfather's lumber yard at 7 Mile and Gratiot in Detroit. It stayed open until the mid-1990s and I have memories of going there as a kid.

A blurry tortoiseshell cat is on top of a black cat whose green eyes are angry and his mouth is open like he's screaming.

Immediately after posting that:

A Sigmund Freud action figure stands in front of a pink background holding a cigar in his right hand. Propped up in his left arm is a wrapped Tampax regular tampon that is as tall as he is.

This is not true.

I took the photo when we were marching down Michigan Avenue at Washington Blvd. The meetup was in front of the federal building at Michigan and the Lodge.

A crowd of people march east on Michigan Avenue at Washington Boulevard in Detroit during an emergency protest following the ICE murder of Renee Good in Minneapolis. A large apartment building has an eight story tall advertisement on the side that says, "Detroit voted for CLARITY. It's time for the Senate to ACT."

Marching through downtown Detroit, protesting ICE and everything the Department of Homeland Security stands for.
