The Amtrak Downeaster has been a huge success in New England. The passenger rail service, established in 2001, runs between Brunswick, Maine, and Boston, Massachusetts, with 10 stops along the way. One of those stations along the route has just begun construction on an $11.8 million expansion.

Not all catenary or third rail systems are compatible… hello?!?
Again, this isn’t a comprehensive plan… there are many other Rail lines and States are empty on this map where there are even existing passenger Rail. Why call it a mess when you’re not reading the map for what it’s suggesting vs what this map isn’t intended to cover?
Care to share how so? This also isn’t a comprehensive plan… Texas has a lot of Rail lines planned for example.
