I have had the great privilege of being a visitor at NCAR for the past ~3 yrs & can tell you that the people there care deeply about making community-driven & useful tools and providing climate & weather info needed for US and global decision-makers, and are just genuinely good & caring people.

Overall, we believe parameterizing MIMICS with microbial community data form the field provides more confidence in our model output, since it is underlain by empirical measurements.
