We have been counting down. The tricky part was we wanted to refinance and take money out, but as economy crashes, house will be worth less, so there's very small window for that opportunity. By the time interest rates make it worth it for us, house will be worth half 😆

Was just thinking, "On the upside, as the economy tanks, mortgage refinancing rates should finally start to improve!"

And sure enough, just hit lowest rate since 2022.

I think I'm finally crashing from this week's upheaval. We had another round of layoffs Monday and I'm EXHAUSTED.

I actually had to verify that was indeed the Monday of THIS week. This week was so long that that event feels like it was WEEKS ago.

Also the AC in my car is, of course, now broken. After just putting $1,000 in repairs into the car two days ago. Bless.

He’s had a very long week

Anyone who's navigated ob market last 18 months could tell you this is indeed current state of things, but whew boy have we been gaslit by breathless reports about the booming stock market, which is entirely driven by AI, a technology precisely engineered to destroy as many human jobs as possible

that is very.... odd.

Sometimes, too, if they just feel there are "too many" eggs in a nest, you'll see them move a couple out and only keep a few in there to actually lay on.

It's instinctual; you'll sometimes see they're removing non-viable eggs from a nest, or removing another duck's eggs from nest, or if they feel a nest isn't "safe" they will try and move all the eggs to a "safer" nest. They will also bury their eggs in woodchips sometimes to keep them warm/hidden
