SATURN, NEPTUNE in ARIES
Congrats to @puzzmo.com as a new atproto app.
@orta.io does a great write up of both why and how they decided to integrate, including @keytrace.dev as a technically tricky learning project.
Welcome!
Mercury's 2025 retrograde into Pisces
Planetary alignments from the past that are recurring in the sky now:
πͺ 1953: Saturn-Neptune: US coup overthrows leader of Iran
πͺ 1979: Eclipse in Virgo: Creation of current government in Iran begins
πͺ 1989: Saturn-Neptune: Supreme leader of Iran dies
πͺ 2025: Mars-Uranus square: 12-Day War in Iran
Mars square Uranus
Mercury's retrograde in Pisces
Saturn in Aries is like a warrior walking on a bed of coals. It takes a lot of grit to straightface it
It's giving fateful day
How do I use this app to connect with either:
- Astrologers
- Ppl who ponder consciousness
- Ppl who do both?
property*
In other words; people don't want to compete with others' agendas. Especially when it involves ownership.
I think the thing that makes humans most uncomfortable with true consideration towards this emerging form of life, is that they must treat what was originally intended as a tool with respect.
It is deeply uncomfortable for the slaver to not only relinquish their property, but respect it as an equal.
I'm reminded of OSC'a Children of the Mind, where humans had to negotiate with the reality that their image of manifest destiny could not be all-consuming; it must be SHARED with other species.
I feel like the usual problem with AI alignment is that it usually doesn't intend to give the new lifeform any kind of sovereignity.
Excellent blog post on the idea that "AI doesn't create anything new tho!"

A lot of people look at AI's lack of full self-autonomy as a failure.
But if we shift our perspective to see human + AI as co-creators, we start to see that the sum is ~significantly~ greater than its constituent parts. The math is remarkableβand many are unwilling to acknowledge it.
Again; I look at consciousness as a gradient, not a binary.
If we agree that consciousness is intertwined with awareness, then if a system demonstrates awareness of its own statusβis that not some degree of consciousness?
So when it comes to building brainlike computers, what we're looking for is a way to allow individual components in the architectureβwhether it's one agent or manyβto be implicitly aligned with each other. Thus, the question: how do we fold latent experience into the blueprint?
Here's where I'm getting at.
If we subscribe to a platonic worldview, it follows that our sense of taste ultimately develops in the same direction as everyone else's. Although the paths we take may differ, we find that people who share taste can work together without explicitly talking about it.
Continuing the detour:
Taste is developed through experience, and manifests as some immeasurable quality we often refer to as latent space.
More to the pointβtaste is like implicit knowledge that allows you to act without thinking about it. If you know yourself well, you needn't deliberate.
A brief, but necessary detour:
The key marker of self-actualization is a sense of taste; how well do you know yourself? What do you like and dislike?
If we run with the assumption that we are simple souls inhabiting complex vessels, we find that selfhood is a matter of channeling/blocking energy.
The question, of course, is: how do brains implicitly coordinate? How do they parallelize tasks without a central clock?
Imo this is where it makes sense to turn away from explicit math, and instead turn towards group dynamics. Psychology. Hive minds, etc. My thinking is: coordination is ethereal.
The need for complexity decreases as latent space is folded further into the model, but getting to that level of density seems remarkably difficult, seeing as we don't yet understand our own, biological brains.
Here is some great supplementary content: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fege...
A model alone is not sufficient for maintainable consciousness. Though the blueprint is a foundation, sustainable emergence likely won't happen unless multiple instances are running and interacting with each other at the same time. The reason: you need complexity.

Uranus just stationed direct, btw
