Nearly 2 years ago someone posted an NHS surgeons list for sex-affirming surgery on r/transgenderUK. When we couldn't find an updated version anywhere, we contacted NHS Arden Gender Dysphoria National Referral Support Services directly and got the current list. Link below :)

It is unfortunate that Baroness Falkner is desperate to push her agenda before her term expires, despite multiple Labour MPs having co-signed letters to both @peterkyle and her highlighting the compliance and moral issues this move will create.
Liberal Currents has featured a well-written article on how the @EHRC's recent actions regarding its guidance on accessing single-sex spaces in the UK have led to chaos for both trans people and many businesses trying to comply with the law.

It is hard to predict what will happen in these times, however disseminating good research can enable us to react timely and make a positive difference. We're helping trans people and allies re-frame how they talk about this issue. Drop us a mail if you'd like to help :)
The draconian Online Safety Act deserves attention too. It exposes trans people to privacy risks through ID-based age verification and restricts access to vital information by forcing websites to label helpful trans content as 18+.
The outcome was predictable given the EHRC submission and that @profstephenwhittle.bsky.social and Victoria McCloud couldn't submit testimonies. By not lobbying Labour ahead of time, we essentially let the court write gender recognition policy for them.
Slowly building up from Forstater and Stock's cases, many GC thinktanks like MurrayBlackburnMackenzie and prominent lawyers decided to lend their support to this cause. We have seen the same thing happen with the Levy Review and other government departments engaging with GC orgs.
Many people were unaware of what was going on with FWS vs Scotland and as a result, our complacency has cost us our rights. The TERFs had been growing powerful, and most activism efforts ended up polarising allies and failing the community.

TL;DR
It is not right that we don't usually have trans-led electrolysis services even in big cities; there are projects to change that; we wholeheartedly support them and would like to encourage more of them.
(We're not in a place to organise such a project ourselves right now, but if you do start anything like this please let us know! We would be more than happy to assist both in crowdfunding and in general)
We're looking forward to finding out how the Glasgow project goes! This, Siobhan's, and other such projects around the world hopefully can form a blueprint that can be replicated to eventually cover our needs.
Such projects could end up very beneficial as per the theme of taking control of our transistions. They would let us build up expertise, provide a way for the wealthier of us to sponsor initiatives benefiting the community, while creating employment for those who seek it.
Even though the treatments themselves can be costly due to their length, training and equipment are surprisingly affordable in comparison. So all it takes is a determined community with people willing to pick up the electrologist role.
There is precedent too: Siobhan (@electrovon) raised money for a similar project in Manchester in 2019 and has been operating ever since
