If I could do it all over again, I don’t think I’d be the same person online however maybe I wouldn’t have wasted the time trying to peer through books just to win arguments and applied myself better

If nothing else photography and fishing while making me like every other guy from Hawaii helps me escape the drudgery of the office

He’s a very excellent writer, easy to read, comedic and willing to speak his mind through the character I’ve so far read about Ferdinand, it’s both semi autobiographical yet fictional it’s fascinating

I can say a lot about Celine after reading a bit of his work. His raunchiness and love of women and sex and his extreme fondness for a nice legs akin to that of a dancer, also his crude attitudes towards authority ebbing and flowing with his pangs of antisemitism

My grasp of French is improving some

I was comparing the Christian trade union federation of Germany to the CFTC. I’d say there’s a similarity between you two euros there

I wish I could have the Catholic book I’m referencing on hand but you get a taste of it in other books about NC. Doesn’t France have a more Catholic union like how the Germans have Christian workers ones

The book I’m mostly drawing from is the Catholic Church in New Caledonia and TE Chapelles book the kanak awakening, very interesting look into French movements from the “periphery” and the emergence of te kanaky independence mvmt

Interesting comparison with what later became Melanesian socialism (Caledonian union) and its conflicts with PALIKA and their United front against generally settlerism

And even the story of how the Christian workers unions were created to stop the influx of mostly kanaks joining the communist party since they were the only ones willing to ignore the laws to publish in native languages other than the settler tongue french

After reading some documents from the Catholic Church, and it’s history in New Caledonia you see a very similar story of Christian socialist coming to arms with the very institution they normally defend.

It’s unfortunate but I can now read basic French and difficult French with the aid of a dictionary

I hate to keep up with the reading and miss all reading group meetings from time zones and having to head out
