people will basically find any avenue for acceptance and autonomy and agency. people of every age and demographic. if whatever social culture they’re in doesn’t allow it or provide it, they’ll go to one that will, or go to one that won’t stop them from creating it with their bare hands. gotta let em

it happens with just about any powerless group of people but because of my social proximity I notice it mostly in children (Minecraft, 6 7, etc) and trans women (being puppy/kitty/wanting to hurt/kill/be killed etc). it’s playing pretend to see if they’re acceptable to you. and it’s fine 👍

sometimes a group of disenfranchised people will get really into an annoying trend. and they don’t even realize that when they subject you to it or ask you to participate, what they’re ACTUALLY doing is testing whether you’ll accept them unconditionally, or shame them. so you have to be nice

remember: you dont have to stop feeling pissed off if someone accidentally pisses you off. you're allowed to feel pissed off. but it becomes shitty and also unhelpful if someone near you makes you pissed off and you try to make that into their problem. it wont help! you have to be kind to them

like i understand if you FEEL anger and frustration because yeah I get it, I'm also alive too (and am also a parent of child with ADHD and a love of breaking things), but when what you BRING to me is something difficult, gentler, positive, and also will effectively help everyone involved, we all win
