There are tons of well supported policy interventions that are far more ambitious and “obvious” than what the democrats have been able to deliver for over a decade.
the pushback here is that we may need even more dramatic improvements to break through. Congestion pricing was well-supported by theory but not politically popular until implementation. Shifting income taxes to land value taxes could be similarly dramatic. or finally delivering a public option.
