My aunt saw this in my kitchen, read it aloud, and turned around and said, βIβd love to be a younger model version of myself.β
She has no idea that The Substance exists.
'Bones' and its director Ernest Dickerson deserve their flowers when they often receive thorns.Β Jazzmin Crawley (@gtsjazz.bsky.social) explains why on Dread Central.
People are scared, yβall. Theyβre scared that life saving treatments are under attack.
If that doesnβt move you β¦ I donβt think youβre human.
I hate - HATE - that people who deserve the sort of care that I and my coworkers work so hard to provide are in fear. The worry in this personβs voice both brought me down, and inspired me to continue to provide the care that is needed
But β¦ I had no legit answer for them. They understood that. They thanked our company for doing what we already do. But then felt the need to express their fears based on what is happening.
It took everything within me to assure this caregiver that as of right now, within our pharmacy, the person that they took care of would be okay. That we would continue to perform the utmost care for the person that they take care of.
Without giving details, I spoke with a caregiver who called in specifically to ask if HIV care was a concern considering everything going on.
This person was a caregiver, not someone directly affected.
I work within HIV care, prevention, as well as transitional care. Itβs the basis of my job. I act as the middle person who finds financial patient assistance for those in need.

Gonna start occasionally documenting my favorite characters within horror β¦
β¦ so I thought Iβd start with Sheila (Toy Newkirk) from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988).
Nerdy. Honest. Smart as fuck. Iconic. Relevant.
ββ¦ do us a favor, and get a VCR.β
Yeees! Specifically the hat.

Gagaβs Abracadabra video pleases me with choreo similar to Nina McNeelyβs in Climax stained with β92β Bram Stokerβs Dracula color aesthetics. And thatβs 2 of the reasons why I love it.
Me and my megaphone are back and ready to defend our possessed queen!

Who is the sidekick- political
How are certain characters portrayed - political
What you show (and what you hide) - political

We did an episode on @spectercinema.bsky.social tier-listing each individual segment, so I have extensive notes for all of them π also covered all the films individually on @podandthependulum.bsky.social, I hope this series makes it past double digits
Shuddup! I literally added your TIER LIST to my podcast playlist, today. Iβm excited to listen. π
It took me a minute because *waves arms in the air to reflect the crazy shit that is happenint*, but hereβs my final ranking of the V/H/S franchise.
Some crazy shit went on throughout these films, and I expect crazier shit in further entries. Things I never imagined Iβd see on celluloid.
If you see this, post a fictional artist/band that you would love to see live.
If any of the above ignites hatred within you, I do not side with you. This small space on social media is not a place for you.
If any of this ignites pride and/or strength then this place is for you. If any of this ignites a need for pride and/or strength then this place is for you.

Itβs like if you took The Hangover, stripped all of the comedy away, and revealed the insecurities and toxicity of the men involved. Also, trippy visuals.
Get Away
A slog of a first few acts turns into a bloody final act thanks to a little something something occuring.
Funny little twist on folk horror. Stick with it. The payoff is definitely worth it.
Definitely not the worst! If anything, itβs one of the funniest - at least to me. Cavewoman Buffy spinning in the computer chair? Hilarity. Her knocking Parker out? Hilarity. I love how Penn does look back on it with love.
Don't you dare turn your eyes away from history, even the awful, scary parts. If you don't watch it with your own eyes, you rely on others to tell you what you saw. We must all bear witness to what's coming.
