CEOs now: Ya’ll have an attitude problem

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

I used to just ignore emails from companies promoting AI this or AI that. But their are so many these days that I started copy/pasting this in reply. I don't think people living in their tech bubbles realize how big the AI backlash is getting.

I reviewed the budget version of the tablet and this has the same pen which is a USI stylus. Tablet's good, pen not so much.

It's amazing how fast many YouTube Creators stopped using AI to make their thumbnails.
The audience has already been conditioned to equate AI with slop so if your thumbnail looks like AI people just don't click it.

Nope, no plans. I reviewed their 24" versions which are very very similar instead.

My current tech pet peeve is people saying that if a screen isn't OLED it sucks.
I've seen some damn good LCDs lately. While in general OLED is a better technology it's doesn't mean and LCD is generally bad.

If you love something that much why not reach out to the artists and give them an opportunity to work on it. In the context of a project this size the cost is practically nothing.

The coolest part of Marathon was the art direction. They lifted some graphics wholesale from this artist but the game's art direction is basically HER style.
I know, I know... If you're a multi-billion dollar company it's not illegal to steal an art style.... but it still makes you an asshole.
