Had to do this last time ICE / immigration was on the agenda 2 weeks ago. Clearly people are fired up (breaking news, I know)

According to public comment, the area is "100% car dependent and always going to be that way," but also further development would endanger kids who walk to the bus.

How could a bike that's limited to 25km/h (or whatever limit the law sets) get to 60 mph?

If you're going to say "someone could break the law and modify their e-bike to go faster," well of course. But that person would have an easier time modifying a non e-bike with an off the shelf kit.

I would pay for a plus tier of Nebula to get the uncut Okaihau Express

If we'd know it'd be 30+ minutes to get a train (when we gave up) we'd have:
A) not paid fare and
B) maybe had time to take a bus instead of needing an expensive Uber

Had this exact same experience with my parents Saturday night, also at Westlake, except the signs said 19 minutes. Had to get an Uber back to Shoreline. I feel the same as the other commenter. I can excuse (some) mechanical issues, but the lack of communication is unacceptable.

I feel it personally when even with my high-paying job it was hard to afford a house. Then I think about how fortunate I am and wonder how the average person is supposed to afford anything.

So I think there's a selection bias in geography that doesn't apply to, say, the average highly paid doctor.

As one of those pro-housing programmers, I'm not saying this is the complete answer but:

The cities with the most acute housing shortages tend to be ones where tech exploded, leading to an influx of high-paying jobs, but housing supply couldn't keep up.

Time for Shoreline to make good on their commitment from last year and follow suit!

Gave up after ~1 hour and got a Lyft, but it appears to have finally made it one stop north to Roosevelt. My advice is take any option other than the train.

Currently in a Lyft (first time ever commuting by rideshare) for exactly this reason. Their service disruption still doesn't include anything indicating how bad it is.

FYI to anyone else reading, the delays are significantly worse than this. Currently spending >10 minutes at every single stop, taken about 50 minutes to get from Symphony to U District.

Yep. Getting the number too low *or* too high is a risk.

The outcome I'm more worried about is trees are overvalued (or alternatively, the opportunity cost of keeping some trees is undervaleud), which makes it look impossible to do anything that involves removing a tree.

Agreed in principle, but I'm curious about the math they use to get to their number (in the hundreds of millions of dollars). Getting this number wrong could lead to very harmful policies (charging thousands of dollars in fees to remove a single tree).

I'm not here to tell people they're protesting wrong, but beating the drum on 1 & 3 is the wrong way to protest.

Just following Trump's tariff logic here... I have a huge trade deficit with Jeff Bezos. I've bought all kinds of things from him (used to), and he's never bought anything from me! 100% trade deficit! Maybe we should put some kinda tariff on Jeff... We could start at 50% to be generous.
