All authors have books they've written that they don't love. This is about one of mine: sarramanning.substack.com/p/my-difficu...
One of my favourite books of last year, Three Days In June by Anne Tyler, is currently Β£1.99 for Kindle. It immediately made me want to read every single word that she'd ever written. amzn.to/4aTfkcF
My difficult fourth grown up novel, It Felt Like A Kiss, is currently 99p for Kindle for, I guess, the whole of March. I have a lot of feelings about this book! π€·π»ββοΈ amzn.to/4rnHnWF
Been writing novels for over twenty years now and still donβt understand the strange alchemy that knits a book together. In my head, I had three disparate plot points and an over-riding ethos the book hinges on. Then a fifteen minute walk brought them all together for a dramatic denouement.
Last day to get these 99p for kindle stunners!
This series, and this book, and Josh Derwent, and Jane, has my whole heart. amzn.to/4kY1HfA
Im in that stage of planning a novel where Iβm making a detailed Pinterest board, saving many bookmarks, buying quite a lot of books and watching Below Deck. All for research, except I also do all those things when Iβm not planning a novel. #trusttheprocess #booksky
Stop playing games with my heart, IKEA! π₯Ίπ’

I really enjoyed reading this. I think the Dorothy Parker writes F Scott Fitzgerald was bang on the money.

I've just cooked for the first time in an air fryer. Took much longer than expected but not having to wear a shower cap on my head so my hair doesn't get smelly while I fry bacon is priceless.

Which means it's a whole year since F1 became about 73% of my entire personality. Be very interesting to watch our fave, now having indepth knowledge of the 2025 season.
Only two more weeks until our fave! I watched Glitter & Gold but I fear it might not have the high octane drama and machismo that you want.
A goegeous swoony, magical love story set between the Harlem Renaissance and contemporary New York. Currently 99p for Kindle amzn.to/4rc7ksE
How many times have I done that with books? *eyes duplicate copy of A Far Cry From Kensington next to her on the desk* Too many to count! So pleased you enjoyed the podcast, I remember having a lot of fun (and some nerves) recording it.
I would love that. x
You're the second friend to be having a spectacularly bad travel day but she turned it around and I'm willing the universe to do the same for you.
Only just seen the news about the wonderful @backlisted.bsky.social going on (an indefinite?) hiatus. Being a guest on Backlisted was top of my bucket list - and I got to talk about one of my favourite novels, The Dud Avocado. You can listen to it here: www.backlisted.fm/episodes/76-...
