An interesting thing to witness is the mass realisation of Sedgwick’s critique of a hermeneutics of suspicion, that, unlike on crime dramas, the public uncovering of damning evidence does not smoothly lead to justice, and often serves to further terrorise with the accompanying sense of powerlessness

This is a grieving mother pushing for legislation that would have further isolated her trans child, that is supported by transphobes.

Trying very hard to link transness with dangerous criminality is disgusting, but so is the following implication that only sane, well-behaved people should be allowed to transition, if any.
The only truly irreversible thing a trans child is likely to do is take their own life. "What if they do something irreversible?" actually means "theyre not allowed to make a decision!"
You cant undo or reverse any decision you make, you can simply change your mind later and handle the consequences

I hate this. Brianna Ghey was murdered by two people she knew in real life. She didn’t meet them online. Conflating her murder with her use of social media is awful.
The way people talk about neurodivergent folk and trans folk is getting more alike by the day. No wonder we tend to stand up for each other. It's the same fatuous arguments made without input from those affected. This is just the social contagion lie. It's interchangeable.
