We all need a break from the timeline, so what is your favorite form of bitchiness in official correspondence?
Mine is: "As I stated in my previous email..."

Is tentatively back online. Still vicariously living my dreams of having badass magical powers and destroying evil men through the characters I write. michellemanus.com https://payhip.com/michellemanus

I love all POVs equally, write your little hearts out in what works for you.
Largely ignoring the POV discourse du jour (write in whatever POV makes sense for your book imo, readers will read it or won't) but just know being told in high school that I should never use 2nd person is why I have a short story voice that is entirely 2nd person.

Another side profile of a bay horse with a large white blaze. He is still looking off into the distance of a snow covered paddock, but he is licking his lips and you see his tongue. Fog is in the background.

Timeline cleanse. Frost on the pony, fog in the background, ice on the trees.
I and my grandmother were born on the summer solstice and my mother and great grandmother were born on the winter solstice. Possibly it goes back further in the family line. It's unclear which ancestor made a pact with which supernatural being, but I have chosen to break it by not procreating.
Omg when did you find out?
The successor to David Attenborough.
I know several of you like colouring, so this shop has some hand-drawn colouring pages that you can purchase.
They clearly do not understand who their customer base was. I used to love going to Target and I haven't been since they started all this bullshit. Realistically I understand my other options aren't much better, but Target pretended they were and it pisses me off.
Cover of the novel Starship's Mage by Glynn Stewart A young man in a black turtleneck with a gold medallion at his throat stands with his hands spread, reaching up toward a spaceship floating above his hand. Strands of magical power weave across the entire cover, connecting his hands and the starship itself.
Cover of the novel Wardtown by Glynn Stewart Two men face off in a dusty Wild West street. A Black man in a white shirt with a red scarf is yelling and firing a revolver at an old man with pointed ears in a long duster. The target is conjuring a magical shield that is stopping the bullets in the air.

TEN YEARS AGO this month I published this horny queer scifi, start of a wild 5-book series. Little adorably clueless 2016 me with my optimism and 'I'm With Her' bumpersticker π«€ www.amazon.com/Safe-Your-Fi... #mmromance #booksky
Good.
If you see this, post a knight
So, yeah, like I TRIED for a while because I was super stressed out and everyone's like "You need to let people help you!" but it just honestly creates more work. I end up having to redo everything, or be so detailed in how it gets done that I might as well have just done it all myself anyway.
π¬ The point where it's talking about not combining finances, perfectly fine doing everything alone, finds it taxing to depend on others--really the whole reading experience was aggressively targeted. I tried to be different for years but I can't be, it's less stressful to do everything myself.
Incredibly rude to just call someone out like this.
Iβm so in.

Re-upping for the Sunday crowd. Last day if you want to grab one (or both) of my series starters for free.
This book is SO good. I devoured it in a day and cried a lot, you should read it.
Me: come to Bluesky, it has the juice
Friend: oh, are the people really funny?
Me: oh no, many of them donβt even seem to understand the concept of humor
Friend: but there are a lot of thoughtful posts?
Me: no mostly itβs just people flipping out about stuff
Friend: but at least itβs fun?
Me: β¦yeah
Leesha is an incredible cover artist! I adore both of the beautiful covers she created for me (Snowspelled & Thornbound), and she's also such a joy to work with - really thoughtful and responsive.
Writing is wild, one day you'll be bitching to your writer friend in DMs about how you have to tear an entire scene apart to fix it and what is life anyway, and the next day you're like "I wrote the most perfect, beautiful scene, and it was funny! I'm still a good writer!" And anyway AI could never.
There is not much I can offer anyone thatβs useful except a pause in your doomscrolling to listen to a very happy loudly purring cat who has lived months longer than the vet thought he would.
