Just watched “The Catman of Paris”. An intricate script that wasn’t properly adapted for screen with some questionable direction but excellent costuming. It was almost fun.

My county is on somewhat of a roundabout building spree. People around here always complain about them but I’d mix rather have a roundabout than a four way. Especially because at a roundabout you don’t have people trying to wave you ahead of them.

There’s this shot in Evil Dead where Ash is ascending some stairs and it’s shot from below. As he climbs the spaces between the steps gets narrower and narrower until at the last step the screen is mostly black except for the narrow strip where we see him nervous from below.

Never mind. The first third is good. The rest of it makes me wish I was watching plan 9.

I’m watching “The Bride and the Beast” and I’m pretty sure the only Ed Wood movie I don’t love is Plan 9

Tonight’s double feature is “The Ghost of Dragstrip Hallow” and “Hold That Ghost”.

Dragstrip was a ton of fun and a really specific slice of teenage Americana. Genuinely one of my favorite movies from the past several months.

Tonight I’m watching “Them!” because I caught a few minutes of it a while back and it looked awesome. So far it’s perfect.

Tonight’s double feature is a triple feature of my favorites since it’s the last Sunday of the year. Night of Ghouls, Braindead, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Outer Space has aged really well and there’s a lot of really cool cinematography

Tonight’s double feature is “The Ape Man” (1943) and “The Monster Maker” (1944). Ape man was a low budget thing, but Lugosi still acted his heart out. Really good and the goofball character is lampshaded so hard that it redeems him.

Tonight’s double feature is “Freaks” and “Black Moon”. I was afraid how Freaks would have aged but I think it still has a hell of a lot to offer modern audiences

If you want to hear Karloff monologue then “The Man They Could Not Hang” is your movie. It’s incredible.
