Delete the turn lane down Greenwood Ave. Waiting to cross on foot with my family at a marked intersection, first car in a line of cars stops to let us cross, car behind the stopped car whips around and zooms past waving the finger. aLL iNtERsECtIoNs are cRoSsWaLks in sEaTtLe 🤪
Some of the city street lights in my neighborhood have been replaced with warm white instead of blue. It's such an improvement.
“After their humans were disappeared by ICE”
Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day — and with masked troops in our streets, law-abiding neighbors being disappeared, a president othering and dehumanizing entire communities in our country, and big mysterious prisons awaiting his scapegoats, history is speaking to all of us.
It absolutely is. Face and mouth morph.
I was reading an article about the cancellation of food aid to Minnesota, and it reminded me of a story about my dad. He was a vet, an organizer and very deeply involved in his church. And one day he stood up and asked a question: “what the f*ck’s the point of having a church?”
I've seen coffee and food trucks here, are they actually banned now?
Agree with the suggested improvements, but a "dead" space has not been my experience over the past 10+ years. The water activities are great with the boat launch + beach, the ice cream boat, rentals/tours/boat-building at the center for wooden boats, etc.
The kayak/paddle board launch is always busy in the summer and there are often big events in the park. The mentioned improvements would be nice but I think some of the criticism exaggerated. We'd always run down there year-round when living in Eastlake and we have lots of picnics on the dock today
Glad I'm not the only one who thought it was "Angel Lake" for _years_
Transit will dump you at the entrance to a parking lot which is six times the size of the stadium. Then you walk on a road with no sidewalks to get through the parking lot to the stadium.
Dropped my monthly donation over this.
When / if you become a parent, you quickly learn you will give it all up for your kid(s) if that's what it takes. I would. For Harrell to hold that against Katie is the appalling cherry on the top of a grotesque cake and I don't like it. It makes Harrell look bad as a person, not just a leader.
I know many people who receive financial help from family in this city. Did no one on their team stop and think about the optics here?
Big "Ballard Cycle Track" energy. I threw this one in the recycling before inspecting it further 🙄 www.ballardcycletrack.com
Same thing in Boston. University students as far as the eyes can see. I once walked a 5 mile loop back to my apartment because I couldn't find a seat 🤷 (Boston is a great city to walk in at least)
MBTA has a mix of fare gates and it's fine?

Fellow Seattleites: I beg you. Please do not reelect this absolute tool, this non-entity, this empty suit. Please elect someone who will put Seattle's purported progressive values into action. (Her name is Katie Wilson.)
Anytime Pete Hanning is mentioned, I want to spend money somewhere besides Fremont. I take the bus from Greenwood to Fremont, do their magical numbers tell them bus riders are not stopping in Fremont because that seems remarkably shortsighted for someone in charge of "commerce"
Vision Zero is Zero Vision. I got that email today and rolled my eyes.
Boston and Seattle have many similar major projects and Boston's are always executed a little bit better. A neighborhood like JP is the level of density Seattle should have.
I went right into it but only made it to the destruction of Jedha. Seamless transition. The world-building of Andor and Rogue One is crafted with so much care it's astonishing. It feels like a place you could go.

Delete the center turn lane down Greenwood Ave.
There's been plenty of evidence in the past several (many?) years that supporting Mr Melon companies is a bad idea and I'm suspicious of anyone claiming, "oops, I didn't know" but certainly going forward, do not buy. I've seen lots of these stickers in Seattle.
