Great game. I think the "cat game" concept and reputation meant the incredible, vibey, vertical cyberpunk city environment didn't quite get its flowers. It's good sci-fi!

Script excerpt re: the #1348ExVoto nb characters backlash. We can't let the loud minority of "anti-woke" (see: racist, sexist, transphobic) elements own the games space. They have to know it's just not accepted. I know from the comments—and from experience—that there'll be some vitriol. But fuck it.
May 7th for #Mixtape!
Some more extremely specific fantasies that gamers can tick of the list this month:

It's an odyssey, but the long and short of it is: three pivotal figures were controversially fired, including the guy who invented DE's world. There was talk of toxic behaviour, a dishonest power grab, and lots more. ZA/UM splintered. A majority of staff moved on. There are many sides to the story.
Yeah. For this game to so closely mirror the style of Disco Elysium — after all that has happened — feels like a very questionable choice. It invites direct comparisons to a lightning-in-a-bottle all-timer that will just never be matched.
It would be nice if it were good, and well received, ofc. Vindicating for the team, good for players. But because it's *so* stylistically close to Disco, it will inevitably live in its shadow, and be judged against it. And that is a tough spot for any game to be.
The #ZeroParades demo was an uneasy play. Here it was, finally: the Disco-like made by what remains of ZA/UM. It felt like examining a counterfeit painting. It's so close in style. Too close, and a bit off. A feeling of mimicry. That DE's wild confidence is not something that can be replicated.
Schumer is so depressing. The lobster that's been boiled in politics for so long, there barely anything left.
Yeah it's mouse & keys only for now, bafflingly. That's why it took me so long to review, I had to get a dock for my ROG Ally.
There's plenty of pickpocketing and back alley bargaining to be had, but little brute force... unless you decide to join the Lich Dealers. I think the biggest weapon in the end is maybe... working class solidarity, against the ruling elite? :)
A game in which the terrified protagonist should definitely be able to interact with the bar

Fans of #CitizenSleeper's mechanics and #Dishonoured's murky setting: consider #Duskpunk by @clockworkbird.bsky.social! It's a steampunk tabletop-style dice rolling RPG with a gritty story and a revolutionary twist.

Flitting between wrecking ball Leon and terrified Grace works reaaaally well. Of the four RE games I played to date (1, 2, 4, Village) this one has the best opening.
Haha it was so nerve wracking. I had watched a streamer to get my jangling nerves down a bit
The opening hour of Requiem feels kind of iconic. Cinematic, memorable, scary, funny. No notes.
In FOMO vs fear of horror stuff, FOMO wins again.
The disaster that is AI is gonna entirely fuck up the access individuals have to technology.
Metacritic has sent a reminder email to all games site editors/publishers which is pretty strong, and great:
I used to be all in favour of democratising culture, and tearing down gatekeeping, and levelling the field of discourse, and then social media kind of did that, and now the world is awash with insane bullshit and I've changed my mind.
