But the Minister for Housing said that insinuating evictions were a reaction to the new rental rules was just misinformation. So all of these people (and the video evidence released today of a landlord's agents saying exactly that) must be wrong.
Leaked video shows that 36 rental properties in Wexford were told that their landlord was delivering eviction notices because of the governmentโs new rental rules
Directly contradicting the claims of the Minister who said any suggestion of link was misinformation

Potentially fatal blow to the Govt's plan to cap fees in environmental Judicial Reviews.
Proof that it's motivated by desire to reduce JRs, rather than the lie that it's just to make fees "predictable." Wait until the Aarhus Committee & CJEU get a hold of this.

The government's solution is that people simply aren't paying enough rent and that controls should be weakened.

Small comfort, but the renters of Dublin Central and Galway West will have an opportunity to express their opinion on the political parties who believe they just aren't paying enough rent.

My friend Dan is among the most principled and decent people I have ever met. He puts himself on the line every single day to help his community, defying the cynical fascists who prey on fear and whip up hatred. This is why heโs going to win #ByElection #SpeirGorm

There has been limited recent campaigning for a constitutional right to housing, but even so almost 7 in 10 people are in favour.
There is a clear appetite for the sort fundamental changes that an amendment would represent.
Tinkering around the edges has failes catastrophically.

I've known Dan for a few years. His integrity and commitment to the constituency has deeply impressed me. Dublin Central couldnโt ask for a better candidate at the upcoming by election.
They almost certainly aren't unconstitutional, but let's put that beyond doubt by introducing a right to housing into the constitution.

Wolf had found the evening paper in Old Fox's desk. He took it to his room & slowly read the names aloud, into the silence. Luis Gustavo Nรบรฑez Cรกceres, Geraldo Lunas Campos, Victor Manuel Dรญaz, Heber Sรกnchez Domรญnguez, Renee Nicole Good, Parady La, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz. He thought of each soul, earthy & loved as roses, high & holy as falcons, fire stars raken into the breath of night. He imagined each name as a child, their first steps, moving towards smiling faces, outstretched arms of love and care, playing in the street on endless summer afternoons, the sidewalk burning hot, laughing until their bellies hurt, blowing out birthday candles, wishing for the future, the rich unlived life beyond. And then he thought of their murderers, and the dark sky seemed to shatter, falling into cold irretrievable fragments.
