Second reason is that I wanted to fully control the player UI, autoplay, the scrub bar, overlays etc. With standard players like YouTube you’re limited in that regard.
I wanted to be able to adjust the video crop last-minute (without re-rendering), so I didn’t want to bake the timestamps into the frames. And I had just built a custom video player for a separate project - with support for HTML subtitles - so this was a nice use case.
And when I say "I", I mean: me with a little help from AI agents.
Don't really know what ownership means these days, as it feels like someone else is doing the hard work. So thanks to all the open-source contributors whose code made it into the LLM training data, I guess 💚

Da würde ich so pauschal jetzt erstmal ein großes Fragezeichen ranmachen. Das TV-Formate im ÖRR auch privatwirtschaftlich produziert werden ist doch nichts Neues und an sich doch auch überhaupt kein Problem. Ob man die einzelnen Produktionen mag oder nicht, ist natürlich eine andere Sache.
