This is better than literally every tankformer from the past decade of Generations. Fun, simple but clever transformation. Zero extraneous kibble in either mode. Hits all the major articulation (including ankle rockers), stands in easily for any G1-inspired Megatron, comes with effects, and is $20.

We need to popularize Hagueseth as a nickname

I feel like the Authentics Prime Changers is going to be seen as another Machine Wars in ten years, if you know what I mean.

What a line this was! Wish they'd just rerelease some of these molds. Maybe for some kind of IDW anniversary.

The amount of Transformers fun offered with just one of these guys at $20 really makes Generations feel even more like it's taking the piss. Sorry, Gen team.

Otherwise these are great; priced right, sweet spot on complexity, attractive packaging, some fun accessories, good alt modes.

Can't even get one sentence about what a Megatron is though? These are supposed to be entry-point toys for kids. Guess they're just supposed to know? Didn't failed US Diaclone attempts in the '80s prove you needed lore and character for the toys?

It's the weekend. If you haven't remembered that Transformers are fun today, pick up one that reminds you Transformers are fun.

Unless they're a Pretender or simple gimmick toy generating the fun elsewhere, and then I'll feel magnanimous enough to spare some extra imagination (a famously limited resource, so this is very big of me) on the alt mode too

I'm not saying robot modes aren't part of the fun, but yeah--Blastcharge is ground zero for the truth that a robot mode can look like anything! That even goes for legacy characters (see all Generations lines up through Earthrise). But they gotta look like they turn into something.

Respectfully, the robot mode mattering more than the alt is the wackest Transformers opinion you can have, and also I do not respect it
