I decided to completely rebuild the entire colony subsystem as a Unity Dots hybrid entity approach. While the entire task colony system are managed in entities and jobs, and the items are even rendered by Entities Graphics, NPCs get classic GameObjects, even with a dynamic IK pickup system.
Excuse accepted๐ฌ, I feel the same way. Visually, everything is the same at the moment, but I am making massive changes to my game code architecture.
I have spent the last few days expanding my colony system and adding item production and NPC needs. NPCs have individual 24-hour shift schedules (working, freetime, sleeping) and individual work priority overrides.

To make the ground plane look much more interesting i add some vertex information to the generated ground plane mesh for fake shadow, surface distance and building distance.
