Rider made me want to be the man she thought I was.

I am a deeply flawed human being and struggle with relationships with other people. But dogs… I’ve never struggled around dogs. They’re the one thing I’ve done right. And Rider was the best. She will always be My Everything…

Today, on my 49th birthday, my beautiful girl Rider, after a brief battle with cancer, died in my arms as I held her and said, “I love you,” over and over again. She was 8 years and 11 months old.

Although the multiple myeloma had been in remission, the damage it had caused was too much to overcome
