Beautiful! π
Beautiful! π
Thank you. Itβs lovely to wear. And yes, I play the harp. π
Thank you. π Lace knitting is actually much easier than you might think. Just a series of strategically placed yarn overs and knitting stitches together. π

#showmeyourknits this week is right down my street as I love knitting lace.
This scarf was my last lace knit.

Two criminals desperately trying to stay out of prison, not caring how much harm they are causing. π‘
Iβve knitted a few of your colourways now, and they are all beautiful. Iβm looking forward to seeing you with your lovely yarns at Woolly Good in Edinburgh. π
Happy Birthday! π
Asymmetric red shawl alternating stocking stitch and lace knitting.
Red knitted shawl opened out.
My entry for this weekβs #showmeyourknits is a merino shawl with lace pattern stripes. I made this a couple of years ago, but itβs still a staple in my wardrobe.

Close up of owl motif.
Grey theme for #showmeyourknits this week. I made this jumper a few years ago. I still wear it, but as itβs 100% alpaca it frequently needs de-fluffing. Itβs fantastically warm, though.
Yarn: hand-dyed alpaca

I totally agree with that. π
Magic! Thank you.
They stay with wear. When you wash you just have to make sure that the edge are rolled when drying. π
Thank you. π The edges are loose and just left to roll.
Oh no!!!
Blue and green jumper in stocking stitch with 3/4 sleeves and rolled hems.
I posted this for #showmeyourknits WIP week on Saturday. It came off the needles on Sunday - my first FO of 2026. ππ§Ά

#showmeyourknits WIPs this week. My merino jumper is nearly done. The yarn is Proud as a Peacock by Untangled Yarns. I absolutely adore the colours in it. π₯°
Itβs been such a relaxing freehand knit. Hoping to finish it this weekend.

Thatβs interesting, thank you. π While I donβt know about the organisms either, I donβt think it can be the pokiness. Iβve tried wool with a layer underneath (so no direct skin contact) and even that didnβt prevent hives, welts and weeping. Whatever the cause, Iβm glad to have found a solution.
Thatβs it - or rather, as Iβve been told, itβs the organisms that still live in it before the superwash treatment gets them. Iβve used yak before, and itβs beautiful to knit with, but, as you say, pricey. Alpaca is also okay, although itβs not my favourite.
Tank top with leaf pattern in yellow/brown wool. Yarn: Forgotten Banana by Rightside Yarn. Pattern: my own.
#showmeyourknits My first superwash knit 5 years ago. Iβm allergic to wool, but I liked the colour (Forgotten Banana) so much that I decided to risk it and found that I can use superwash. I know that it has its own issues, but I like it much better than a lot of the acrylics on offer. Info in ALT.
What a fantastic idea! π
I finished my cowl today so Iβm posting it again for #showmeyourknits knitterβs choice! Itβs so soft - Iβve been wearing it all afternoon and I donβt want to take it off. Iβm really pleased with it. π

I love the colours in this. π
Shawl in green, blue and purple. A mix of lace and stocking stitch.

This is how much yarn was left over once I had finished knitting.
#showmeyourknits knitterβs choice: I picked up this glorious sparkly merino yarn (STEVE by the Woolchemist) at the Woolly Good Gathering in Edinburgh this spring and made it into a shawl. I also got to play serious yarn chicken. π
Pattern is my own.

Label for YarnTings pure silk yarn.
Hi Bella. I hope youβre having a nice festive season too. π
Iβve not come across too many pure silk yarns - most seem to be mixes. To answer your question, it feels absolutely amazing and soft, the yarn is incredibly strong and a dream to work with. π
A picture of the label is below.
Beautiful! π
Thank you! π
It is! I used the same yarn to knit a scarf in another colour recently, and I love wearing it. π
A cowl knitted in multicoloured silk yarn in progress.
Whites and brights week for #showmeyourknits
White isnβt really my thing, but bright I can definitely do. π This is my Christmas Day cast on - a very simple cowl in pure silk. π€ Yarn is Faves by @yarntings.bsky.social and itβs wonderfully soft and shiny.

#showmeyourknits cardigan week. Iβm not really a cardigan knitter or wearer, so I donβt have much to choose from for this week. But hereβs a wee set that I made for a little person a few months ago.
I think the yarn was called Hedgerow. The pattern is my own.

Itβs got to be done. π
