Eight or nine years ago I looked around and realized that it wasn't only my company: most tech companies were just as fucked up. So I threw up my hands and signed up to do high school biology by correspondence.
This July I finish my residency and start work as an independent family doc.

Absolutely horrifying stuff. The government is full to the brim with cowards and warmongers. I have lost track of the number of times the Liberal government has crossed a bright red line that would prevent me from ever voting for them again, "strategic necessity" be damned.

What's scary about this story is the surveillance it hints at. This trans woman had changed her name, legally, but chose not to change her gender marker. She was apparently flagged in the DMV system as trans and her license was invalidated under a law that supposedly only concerned gender markers.
This story, from @natezuke.bsky.social, is absolutely wild. A trans woman who never changed her gender marker was issued a letter invalidating her license. At the DMV they cut up her license, which had an "M" marker.

I urge everyone to support international medical graduates in Ontario, where the Ford government is attempted to effectively IMGs from matching to residency. This is a violation of their Charter rights (and a transparently racist policy).

so now AI marketing has convinced people that they don't know how to write text messages, quick emails, stuff they've done for goodness knows how long. but no, now you're supposed to feel insecure about your ability to do that stuff. and the "corrected" version is the version without your humanity
"Nazis were just regular people" is not a statement meant to evoke empathy or to excuse their crimes. It is a statement of warning.
The capacity to be part of and perpetrate atrocities is not limited to "monsters," it is wholly human. It is what we must always be aware of.
