Fantastic news, have been waiting for a 4K release of Ben-Hur for a while now!

*Record scratch* "Yep, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.."
A screenshot of the 2.5D MMORPG game Conquer Online picturing players standing in Twin City, the unofficial capital of the game. The different player classes display their swords and auras in a Wuxian styled theme.
Cool thread! Seeing those games made me oddly nostalgic of Conquer Online, the (really grindy) MMORPG also in a Wuxia setting. Never really stood still on what a great genre this is in terms of art and style and how much more there is to check out, thanks!
A splash page from the October 1993 issue of Compute magazine. Floating in a vaporwave plane, in the center of a piece of graph paper, a giant ebony floating head is quadrated off; but is missing the pieces in the center. Around the head is the number 4, a triangle, the symbol for pi, a mouse cursor, and various lines of navigation. Behind the head is a sunset. Into the head's open hole flies a microchip, a semicirclular prism, a pole, and a chessboard.
"Paul, we're doing an article about data compression techniques. We just need something that illustrates compressing data." "Say no more, Cliff."
Cover for the Playstation 1 game Tomba!
Tomba was such a fun game and also oddly nostalgic. Catching pigs while waiting for dinner to be ready is a core memory for me.

Pixelart of a shaded blue ball
Pixelart of a purple ball with shading
Some shading practice, some freehand, one more methodical with the brush but it's been a good exercise. #pixelart
Pixelart of the text "It's okay" on a fluorescent background.
Alright just one last try to see if I can get this compression down for good.
Pixel-art of two kites flying in a blue sky with two clouds on top.
Day 2 of Aseprite! Hope I don't fumble the upscale algo on bluesky this time.
Pixelart of a beach displaying a towel and a boat.
Learning the ropes of aseprite, could be fun to do a drawing a day (or week holy shit this takes so much time) to see how much I can improve.
Diving back into #godot for a bit again. Having done identical chapters on a course with both GDScript and C# I'm still a bit on the fence on what to keep using. Missing out on mobile (sort of) and web export seems kinda limitng. The support in Rider is top notch though.
Keep on keeping on

TIL someone copied Arthur's journal from RDR2 to fit a PDF and print version. Really impressed by the effort and also the worldbuilding that was done by R*. It's nice to get some inspiration out of for journalling and the handwriting for the fountain pen hobby.

Born too late to experience the fun decades of computing, born too early for fully automated luxury gay space communism, born just in time to get gaslighted by AI everytime i try to search something on google.
There are some great stockphoto CD-roms hidden in Jason Scott's Discmaster as well, just dropping this here: discmaster.textfiles.com
I recreated Joey's Gibson virus from the movie Hackers and it runs on a vintage Powerbook Duo. When you launch the "virus" it makes a new post to the Bluesky bot @hacktheplanet.simone.computer
Before you ask no this is not actually a virus π

In my fifth or sixth Abnett book since getting into the #warhammer40k series and I slowly start to realize none of these books will get a proper ending and are being speedrunned EVERY TIME when everything finally comes together. (I LOVE the books so far, just a pet peeve.) #40k
I was also amazed to find out that Amit, the creator, also is the creator of redblobgames.com, which is quite awesome.
He also supplies a really good guide on how to get the game working in the current day and age here www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~amitp/Artic...
A screenshot of a BBS Door game running called Solar Realms Elite. It's showing the main startup menu after launching, indicating a working status!
After tinkering with EnigmaΒ½ since last time in 2021, this time I finally got some door games running in dosemu on Linux and 'getting' how they work.
Also didn't expect having to need to circumvent a Y2K bug but I've got Solar Realms Elite running finally!

There's a JS version on the web if someone feels inspired after reading @ kidpix.app
Love your mags (and the stickers that came with it). Awesome initiative!
The only thing that really stayed with me from this movie is that all the family members stroke eachother weirdly across the face, like it's the most ordinary thing to do.
The book cover of the book The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers showing the Wayfarer ship crossing in front of a planet.
Started reading The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet as a start on the #Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers and am pleasantly surprised. Love the worldbuilding and characters, it's like slipping into a warm bath everytime I start reading.
Atleast it's Pyrex π
Fiddling with App Insights again. For the life of me I couldn't get the Live Metrics to work as it error'd out. Turns out, having an adblocker blocks the connection in the Azure Portalπ€¦ββοΈ
Pretty cool sight now that it's working. Thinking about building in some dependencies just so we can track 'm.
It's kinda neat getting this kind of monitoring for requests straight out of the box. I see the bots trickling in as per usual though.
