Weird Asian comedy horrors are a favourite of mine, so many hidden gems to discover. Just recently I watched one I think from South Korea that was about a woman who thought she had the perfect husband, who turned out to be an alien that drank petrol.
My favourite version of this was cryptobros stumbling into subreddits about bigfoot to inform people about their favourite new cryptocurrency
I’ve been setting those things on macOS for years too, since it makes things look much cleaner. People comment “wow, that looks like classic macOS!” whenever they see it with the white title bar but it doesn’t look enough like it for my liking 😛

A mural depicting a lady bathing in lovely cyan water, amongst mossy rocks at the she of an ocean. There are some flowers on the closest rock, and some mountains on the horizon. The mural is under a bridge over a river and the mural can be seen reflecting in the water of the river.
I enjoyed this mural while I was riding along the Guadalupe river trail today. Don’t know how I didn’t notice it before!
Shivers was one of the many games we bought back in the day, our entire family loved adventure-type games. I recently introduced my mum to gog and she initially thought it was a piracy site the prices were so cheap. I still listen to the songs from Shivers II: Harvest of Souls occasionally...

Achieved this myself a slightly different way (grabbed this thing off eBay recently as I always wanted one when they were new in the ‘90s but couldn’t buy such a thing for myself back then!) it’s mostly DOS compatible, just some oddities as it’s a 186. Graphics are CGA

I got the Bluray a couple of years ago, the week before my parents were visiting. Obviously I showed it to them, and they loved it too! It has a lot of stuff I love, like some sets being built out of each other and some funny transitions (paintings to scenery/etc.). And all the cat stuff, of course
Finally, after five years of avoiding it through masking and such, I have caught COVID. Before I had "symptoms" I had several nights of insomnia (which have continued) so I assume that was the actual start. One day I hope to have a good night's sleep again :(

48k ZX Spectrum, tape for storage. I actually remember asking my dad to try it before I could even read, and seeing what appeared at the time to be mysterious heiroglyphics appear on the screen as I pressed the buttons. He did this very intentionally as he knew computers were the future.
Spent way too long unsuccessfully trying to find out what make/model it was ;) It was very similar to this one (photo from eBay) but they don't seem to have an LPT model so I don't think it was a Panasonic. Either way, "portable" style but too big to actually carry around in your pocket ;)
Nothing to do with the Jaguar but visually it reminds me of the first CD-ROM drive I ever used, borrowed from my dad's work, which was an extremely large "portable" form factor drive that plugged into our 286's parallel port. You could very slowly access the CD-ROMs that way!
Sadly it looks like most of the replies I made during this several month period have disappeared into the ether - they were appearing on my account up until I fixed the issue, then gone. Only one I made today (and noticed the problem) survived. I should check to see if they're still on the disk...
BSky pro-tip: don't configure your entire web server to block all requests from anything vaguely bot-like in an attempt to stop AI scraping...then spend several months replying to people's posts and things and only now discovering that nobody ever saw them because Bsky couldn't access your PDS!

I had the exact same thought when I got that same pop up, as I too run my own PDS so they don’t actually have any of my content, just access to it.
I think in the end I just ended up borrowing a handheld scanner from somewhere and scanning in Dominion Tank Police (and other Shirow stuff) from Manga Mania/Max as that was much faster, at least for wallpaper use ;)
