Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.
Every year around this time, I ask folks to consider doing something in support of Native people. This year, please join me in supporting the Native Organizers Alliance as they build grassroots power, defend Native voting rights, and equip our people for collective struggle through skill-building.

Several schools in the district run a summer checkout program. Usually students can take up to 10 books for the summer - but there is some wiggle room!
Yes. We’ve done summer checkouts at the middle school for 5+ years. Much rather have students read them than have books sit gathering dust! Happy students. Minimal loss. Recommend!
Wrapped up our all school read program with a virtual visit with Rex Ogle and a day full of content area activities connected to ideas explored in his book Free Lunch. His talk and the visit was fantastic!
