ok I'm not on TikTok... does the original say what happened???

I'm so glad you listened to the episode! I love the fact that scale isn't always the goal!
First book draft sent to my publisher for review... it's getting real!!!
hiiiiiiii I'm so glad we get to be connected here. I need to figure out how to make a Deeper Business Membership Bluesky starter pack now that the platform has picked up!
This reminds me of the days that the gurus would tell you to set up a bunch of other emails and buy your products from those other emails so you'd have "receipts."
Great piece, as per usual. And thank you for sending out your newsletters on a platform where I can share the URL. I shared this week's post on "making your own recommendation network" in my community.
Why does Google think that if I didnβt want Gemini in my workspace that Iβll want MORE Gemini in NotebookLM Plus??
I think you can make LinkedIn Lists in the platform.
LOVED this piece. Excited to be connected to whatβs next through your work.
I was late to instagram for business, so I put up a static grid a year ago, removed the app from my phone, and peaced. I probably wonβt delete my accounts, but Iβll certainly never go back to posting or spending any time there. (The neighborhood HOA Facebook group being an exception.)
Ezra Kleinβs podcast today gave me a new phrase: weβre in an attention oligopoly. Where the currency of power isnβt money, itβs attention.
Makes me even more concerned with where and how I spend my attention these days.
I loved that piece. I see the need for the digital water cooler, I just wonder if personally people might be pulling back from phones and social media more generally. I can tell my attention is more fractured when I spend time on any social media app, even like a Substack.
Maybe! But also are the people that used to be frequently on old Twitter going to be on any app as frequently? Or will they long to have reclaimed their attention from any of these platforms?
I asked support to enable the ability to turn Gemini Workspace off. It took a few minutes in chat, but way less than the hours it seemed to take people yesterday - I asked via the admin help portal. They told me "it's permanent" like that wasn't a selling point. And it has worked!
I do not want Google to even offer to summarize my emails. I turned off Gemini in the admin consoleβ¦. anyone find a valid working suggestion to make it go away in mail and docs???
Oooooof. Oh since youβre here, what platform is your main Lex Roman website on - is it Ghost?
The showdown you did with Bev?
Are you sending out the recording of your newsletter workshop from today?
Iβve just blocked them.
The bots have now come for BlueSkyβ¦.
Blocked more fake accounts today than in the past two months.
Too many of my audience has ignored platform decline - they continue to want to grow their customer base on the ensh*ttified platforms. Iβm excited to share this with them!
I donβt set annual goals, not really. I have my arc for the year, and know the 2-3 big levers that change my life and/or business. And then set specific projects for the next quarter.
Like this quarter, Iβm rebranding my business and finishing my book draft! All in service of leverage.
Mine is leverage. What can I create or do so that the things I do in my life and business stacks together for momentum. Iβm after long-term resilience, which means as a soloist I need to be focused on less, better, and compounding effort.
Iβm really enjoying the Ladder app if you need a routine and motivation.
The McKinsey recap post - and the deck: www.mckinsey.com/alumni/news-...
I was at McKinsey when something similar happened. Anyone else remember Ranjitβs laptop?
Of course, within a day, some analyst put together a deck about the wasted money by analyzing the response rate and response time. It was glorious.
Iβm not taking client calls but handling the admin and cleanup that never quite gets done when I have clients. Plus next years financial forecast.
Thanks!!
