Do something and we did
Reflecting on the year, I realized it's hard for me to share opinions. I know enough to know I don't have all the perspectives, and I don't really want to engage with folks who are 100% confident in their own perspectives. It makes it hard to talk about ideas when only one side is willing to learn.

- Do you have any tricks or tactics to get enthusiasm back when you've lost it?
- Do you have any go-to people or ideas that help you boost your enthusiasm when needed?
Let me know what comes up for you, and looking forward to connecting!
- Are there specific scenarios or phases of your work-life where you tend to feel a lot of enthusiasm?
- Are there scenarios that tend to drain your enthusiasm?
- What's the impact on your work, creativity, life, etc when you're in an enthusiasm funk?
Hey all!
I'm working on a project about how enthusiasm plays into success as a creator and business owner. I'd love to collect some more data and experiences related to how different creators experience enthusiasm, or the lack of it.
I'd love to hear your experience with any of the following:
Bummer! I was there, and just saw this⦠would have loved to say hey.
What did you love the most about today? Iβve been low key designing AI agents in my head since this morning.
At @notion.com Make 2025. Looking forward to the new AI agents they announced, with a few ideas on how to use on my business.
Are you an established content creator? I am working on something new to help purpose-driven content creators progress quicker, by the end of the year.
This is purely research for me, so nothing to sell. Anyone interested in a quick discussion?
Man, had a tough new client call this week. No matter what I said, we werenβt making progress.
What do you do in that situation?
Acknowledge the situation. Nothing I said or did was going to help because we were not a fit.
And thatβs ok.
So I recommended another coach that might better connect
Nothing like a week that starts out with all your meetings being cancelled. Which is strange, because usually itβs not EVERY meeting in one day. Let alone two days in a row.
Will it continue today?
Itβs helped me clarify how people are helped through coaching, why my program is different, and tons of cool people who want to help others.
So, if you write or record (emails and voice messages count) then you are also, in fact, a creator.
Maybe not professionally. But a creator nonetheless.
Iβve been thinking about whatβs the top thing thatβs helped me as an accidental #creator.
Iβm a coach first, and content is a way to get attention for my business.
But Iβve been pretty terrible as a creator. Why?
Because I never fully accepted I was a creator. Owning the role has been key.
What are the big issues you face as a small creator?
Iβm struggling with getting my content in front of folks.

Was working on something and @jay.blogβs old #tweet100 challenge came up.
Been thinking about doing that on here, to prove I can post once a day for 100 days. Because iβm terrible at posting and would like to get better.
Anyone else want to try with me?
I want a place online where I don't believe this, and that we are incentivized to be civil, not to say outrageous things for attention.
I don't know if such a place exists. Maybe here is as close as we can get?
I don't always post on #bluesky. But when I do....
I struggle to figure out what to share. I think the previous versions of social media have conditioned me to not trust anything said online, or that you'll get rage-baited into arguing with a bot.
I realized I said something because of how I feel about the world right now. And, bsky probably isn't the best for conversations like this?
All that to say thanks for sharing, I respect you and your thoughts. You rock! I'm gonna go for a walk now.
FWIW, I've followed you for a while. I'm upset about the horrendous week, and believe anyone platforming and drawing attention to what's happening is good.
You don't want people to platform him, so he doesn't get attention. His is currently talking about what's happing in LA. I worry in this moment that we shoot the messenger because he is not "right", and lose more people knowing what's going on.
You donβt want people to pay attention to him.
My apologies for misunderstanding then.
I donβt understand the connection to whatβs happening in LA due to federal policy and agents, and Newson talking about it.
I think, regardless if he is or isnβt genuine or good people, itβs correct for the governor to speak out about whatβs happening now, wherever he can.
Right?
Iβm curious, what do you think should he be doing then?
He is still the governor of California, regardless of his personality or values. He should be speaking up and out about whatβs currently happening here in the state.
Isnβt speaking up whatβs required in this moment from the governor?
It's a beautiful thing when a creator choses to follow their art. One of the folks I follow announced the evolution of their brand today, and said the magic words "I was writing about it and am feeling excited for my work again."
Life's too short to work on things that dim your creativity!
I used to think burnout just meant being tired.
But for me, it looked like dread. Like building content for algorithms instead of purpose. Like losing joy in the work I once loved.
This week I break down how creators slide into burnout, and how to escape it.

To add, I think the best performers are consistent at sustainable growth. Thatβs the hardest part when you show up every day!
It is a shame. And itβs why itβs more important than ever to role model being a good apple. (Or at least aspire to not be a bad apple)
Hope you continue to lead the way. Iβll do my part, too!
It always surprises me how many folks canβt stand to ignore the things they donβt like or care for on social. Especially when itβs something positive. We need more cheering on of good things.
Iβm grateful you shared your gratitude practice and challenge! Cheering you on!
