Not too sure. But I did get this photo of the shadows... maybe that's you down there?

I was somewhere in there π
Was that 1Z38 by any chance? (I was on that one back south!)
Isn't that just a 10-car train formed of two 5-car 800s joined together?
Last Aug, I walked from Llanbister Road to Llangynllo, two stations on the Heart of Wales line. No phone signal at either station, and not much on the walk.
Got to Llangynllo, no real idea if my train was running. Never been so glad to see the board change from "on time" to "expected 2 mins late"!
Keep thinking of arguments for why it would be completely insane to dump a prime minister with a huge majority just 14 months in, and also about how if he's not going to say a single word in opposition to the kind of shit we saw today then I no longer feel convinced by any of those arguments.
Appalled by the violent scenes of police being attacked at the Tommy Robinson rally today. Those responsible should face the full force of the law.
These far right thugs do not speak for Britain.
Iβll say it again: no oneβs trying to make your kids trans or non-binary or gay. Weβre trying to keep your trans or non-binary or gay kid alive, because we know (unlike certain howling straight people) exactly what it was like.
Oxfordβs new railway line to Milton Keynes has been complete for almost a year. Yet passenger trains still arenβt running. Whatβs going on? We investigate: oxfordclarion.uk/the-08-44-to...
Quincunx is a great word! My favourite world map is the Peirce quincuncial projection, which is conformal (angle-preserving) at all but four points π

Just for perspective, a few weeks ago roughly 100,000 turned up for the London Trans+ Pride march. By contrast fewer than 3,000 ACROSS THE WHOLE COUNTRY, have turned up to anti-asylum "protests". Yet we are meant to take the latter as "the voice of the people" and the former as "the minority".
Nah, that's because in a year he'll have to change his name to The Man at Age 61.
Just gonna state for the record that this is appalling, and the tell it's rooted in bigotry rather than women's safety is that it risks preventing trans men - a group assigned female at birth - from accessing using toilets. It's an unworkable bloody mess, and those pushing it should be ashamed.
With Tom Lehrer's passing, I suppose this is a moment to share the story of the prank he played on the National Security Agency, and how it went undiscovered for nearly 60 years.
It has subsequently been recontrolled from Victoria ASC into TBROC (note the signal number is now TVC682).
Perhaps 'G' was introduced at the recontrol to indicate a movement to VS72 (on the Down Kensington), to distinguish from VS78 (on the Up Kensington)?
The flammability of historic buildings that are the subject of longstanding contentious planning disputes is really worryingly high. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
If rain put people off doing things in Ireland, no-one would ever leave the house π
Oh okay, yeah, I missed the point here that MK Dons are now in a different league π
We don't know yet. Fixture dates for next season will be announced on Thursday 26 June 2025 at 12:00pm (BST), per efl.com/news/2025/ap...
Yeah, sadly that's the standard recovery plan for late running. It protects the up train from getting late and making everything across the entire line late for the rest of the day... at the cost of your train getting screwed.
If only there were more passing loops or double track...
100%. This is why I always check the water before squeezing the soap onto my hands π
I love little hidden nuggets like this!
Front cover of John Green's new book Everything Is Tuberculosis, with a small black sticker saying "signed copy".
The second page of the book, which is a title page with a John Green signature in purple (?) sharpie.
Thank you @waterstones.bsky.social for shipping my (UK) pre-order of @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social's new book #EverythingIsTuberculosis a couple of days early - can't wait to get stuck in!
One of the many difficulties the Conservatives faced in getting anything done was the endless churn of ministers. The DfT is really hard to get a grip on - letβs hope whoever gets the job next enjoys a longer run at it - the stuff it does really matters to peopleβs everyday lives.
Away from what Lou Haigh did or didnβt do, one of the most difficult and more neglected briefs in government has lost a secretary of state who both seemed to get the subject and to believe itβs possibly the most impactful department of all, not just a stepping stone to something bigger.
I seem to recall it's also a fraud prevention measure? If someone were to make a fake ticket but use the standard month abbreviations, you can tell instantly that a ticket with DEC is fake.
I don't remember where I heard/read that, though, so take it with a pinch of salt!
Guess I should introduce myself...
