She had to be very frugal at times, so one thing I learned from her was to doctor up a cheap jar of Ragu by toasting oregano in some olive oil, and add some red wine to the sauce. Makes it taste more expensive lol

Flour is used to thicken the sauce— first you melt butter, add flour to it and let that sit in the pan for a minute or two, then add the milk bits at a time, stirring constantly, and it’ll thicken up, then when it gets too thick you keep adding more milk. Sometimes I add garlic in with the butter!

I feel like even back then though, I liked the book even more than the film, since Adams’ prose is so beautiful

Book is very good— haven’t read it in a very long time, so I can’t remember all of the differences. I remember the book had way more stories about El-ahrairah, and I thought as a teen that they broke up the pacing too much, but I fell like id appreciate them a lot more now.

It’s a made up position, I’m sure behind closed doors, Trump is super pissed at how bad shes made his admin look.

Trump wanting to take over the world isn’t new, so I don’t really see this Special Envoy position as anything dramatically worse than what’s already happening

This is a sign that Trump is finally giving in to some pressure, another big crack in the armor. Take the positives while you can, I know they seem rare these days.
