Oh shit, is that a print edition of The Onion? Would love to be able to have them delivered to the UK without having to pay £100.

It feels like my most recent emails are trying to tell a story…
I even made a video run-through!

I'm really proud of this, and I hope that if you choose to try it out, you'll find it as useful as I do.
Today I’m launching my first-ever app, The Slate.
You can check it out now on the App Store: apps.apple.com/us/app/the-s...
The Slate is the unique and easy way to keep track of upcoming movie and TV projects from your favourite actors, writers, directors, and producers.

I've been rewatching Scrubs before the new season and the gut-punch in this one is still one of the best ever TV moments.

Not that I'm a sad person myself, I'm very grateful for my life, they just connect with me in a 'what could have been' way.
Well, the whole story with your Dad was quite, shall we say, eventful. Then to go back to your Uncle and hear that after everything that your Dad went through, and despite your Uncle saying he was the one doing the right thing, he was still very sad. I very much connect to these sorts stories.
wow. That kinda shook me a bit.
In this week's Club @macstories.net Weekly column, I detailed what's impressed me about Xcode's new Claude agent integration and how it has sped up work on my first iOS app.

Just catching up on these and sweet Judas, is this horrible. Yeah, a frozen frame might look 'fine' but the actual animation – you know, the thing it's meant to be – is so terrible. Why do people think this is acceptable quality for a worldwide production?

Finally, you can customise the visual look of the app with several accent colours.
I'm incredibly pleased with how this app realises an idea that I had over 5 years ago and I hope if you try this app you'll be pleased with it too.
I'd love to hear your feedback!

Image of the settings page of The Slate including Calendar app integration.
The Slate features Calendar integration so you can see upcoming projects for your favourite talent in the Calendar app. You can also add a project manually.
Furthermore, for each project you can see a brief synopsis and watch a trailer. As with the talent pages, you can jump to the appropriate IMDb entry but, additionally, you can directly view the project on Sequel or Letterboxd for tracking or adding to lists.
Want to learn more about your favourite talent and see their past projects? Easily see their credit history or jump directly to their page on IMDb.
Highlighting areas of the app where multiple favourites appear on the same project.
Your Slate highlights unmissable projects where two or more of your favourites are working together. You can also view a historical timeline of past projects or define the amount of previous months that can appear in Your Upcoming Slate.
Adding Timothy Olyphant as a favourite.

The Upcoming Slate view.
So, what is The Slate?
The Slate is the quick and easy way to keep track of upcoming movie and TV projects from your favourite talent. Favourite any actor, writer, director, or producer by adding them to your favourites and see their upcoming work listed in your own personal project Slate.
Firstly, to be clear, this would not have been possible without Claude Code and Opus 4.5. This has been a revelation and enabled me to create the app from scratch alongside XCode.
I designed the app myself and prompted Claude to create it, refining and debugging over the last couple of weeks.
Years ago I had an idea for an app that I haven't been able to turn into a reality. Until now.
Introducing The Slate: Track your favourite movie and TV talent.
If you're interested in trying out the beta, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Genuinely very upset about this news. One of the funniest to ever do it.
variety.com/2026/tv/news/cath...
But if you'll forgive me, I find it hard to get too worked up about icon designs when Apple is putting ads for a professional creative suite in its free productivity apps. Which is the greater offense to the user experience?
Very fair point by @jasonsnell. I'll admit I was one of those complainers.

No words would do justice as to how beautiful and often profound this series is. A true work of art. Joe Bennett is now my new person to watch after this and Common Side Effects.

Stunning. Put this top of your list if you haven't watched it yet.
