I had a neighbor complain about my roosters' noise once.

Admittedly, we had about four extras, so we ate them. And then I made it known that what happens to problem roos is that we eat them. And I never had another complaint.....

So....the 2025 remake of The Toxic Avenger is better than the original, while keeping the absolute spirit of the original.

And with significantly less gratuitous nudity.

How the hell they managed to afford Peter Dinklage, Elija Wood, and Kevin Bacon is a mystery, though.

Oh yeah, @tkingfisher.com is still riding high for him saying one of her novels was a "must read" this past Halloween

Don't make excuses for Neil Gaiman's bullshit in my vicinity unless you like bleeding ears.

TFW you pull out a T-shirt with a favorite movie character on it, and the actor is a TERF.

BTW and ICYMI, Doug Bradley aka Pinhead is a TERF.

I saw someone say the whole Epstein release was timed to deflect from something else, and here we are.

You can thank @skiriki.bsky.social for giving me the instructions. Or blame them, I'm not sure which.

This is also true for civilian contractors. Yes, I had clearances (but not TS) for prior jobs, because the systems were secure. Did I know what was on them? No. Could I actually access the data? No. Did I need a clearance to work on the hardware? Yes.

I keep saying this and obviously it applies to any place where there's a headline-grabbing crisis/war/situation/etc:

What you see in the news stories about the Twin Cities, even the deep-dive articles, is a *fraction* of what's actually happening. Countless other stories untold.

It's not just "stand up to ICE when you see them," it's building many vast networks of support and trust to
- create safe spaces
- protect schools
- get kids TO school
- check on neighbors
- deliver groceries
- help pay the rent
- let people know of danger
- feed the helpers, too!
- and on and on

If you haven't read any of Michael's books, I highly recommend them.

Also he owns our old house in NC.

I need y'all to understand this in the coming days if what I'm hearing is true.

Philly is not simply an angry city. Philly is a city that *takes 0 shit from others*. We will close ranks around our own and protect them against outsiders. We are kind.

But we sure as fuck ain't nice.

Pretty much. Housecats grow out of it. Tigers do not.

I will keep that in mind next time we are at a common con.

Sadly, we do so few fur cons anymore....

I should mention that baby Snow Leopard and baby Tigers are just big kittens until they hit puberty, at which point they will tear your face off for fun.

Ocelot
Caracal
Baby Snow Leopard
Baby Tiger

They were all very soft.

Oh, we are in Santa Fe County! I'll have to check it out. Great for some.of the project Ideas I have kicking around.

And if I want to try before I buy - I wonder if the have a mini lathe I can use for some basic pen turning before spending the $$ for my own.
