Israel accused of detaining Greta Thunberg in infested cell and making her hold flags
Activist tells Swedish officials she has been subjected to harsh treatment, including insufficient food and water
ββThey dragged little Greta [Thunberg] by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others,β the Turkish activist ErsinΓelik, a participant in the Sumud flotilla, told Anadolu news agency.β+

event poster with photos of Rose Sutherland (white woman with long very curly brown hair) and Lisa Brideau (white woman with short straight brown hair) and their books: A Sweet Sting of Salt and Adrift.
The book signing event is a two for one deal: me and another Dartmouth High alumni, Rose Sutherland @sutherrose.bsky.social - fun fact, we had the same creative writing teacher!
Come hang out with us both 1-3pm on Sat. Oct 11 at Indigo (Chapters) Dartmouth at MicMacMall

Maggie totally gets what I'm going for with this twisty, gothic-flavoured tale, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have her in my corner as we coax DAISY into full bloom!

There's a lot going on in my world right now, but one of the best things is I can finally share that I'm now being represented by the utterly wonderful Maggie Cooper at Aevitas Creative Management, and planning to dig back into revisions on DAISY, THE DEAD MAN, & THE WHORE NEXT DOOR soon!

If we're doing groceries and take-out discourse, here's my take:
Man-made famines are crimes against humanity.
If you can help the World Central Kitchen in Gaza, please do. Donate dollars. Call your reps. Share their story in your communities to invite help.

βWeβre all tired of queers, right?β is the sum total of this panel description, whistling to dogs through a fig leaf of βstrong women,β & I think itβs disgusting & irresponsible & reprehensible. Itβs bad panel-writing, itβs bad ethics, itβs the stupidest shit, & Seattle deserved better than this.

IT IS NOT "RETOOLING" OR "ACCOMODATION" TO INCLUDE WHAT WAS ALWAYS THERE AND HAS BEEN DELIBERATELY EXCLUDED FROM HISTORY IN AN ATTEMPT TO ERASE US.
Frankly, the only challenge I have in writing queer history is how many people seem to be allergic to the word historical.

It shows the hardback cover of The Woman's World magazine, edited by Oscar Wilde and illustrated in 1889.
Did you know?
In the Victorian era, Oscar Wilde became the editor of an extremely progressive magazine called The Woman's World.
It was one of the first magazines to feature articles that focused on what women think, rather than just what they wear.

Today's Supreme Court decision, though couched in the language of freedom and inclusivity, is a tragic failure for both the right to read and the rights of LGBTQIA+ people. Authors Against Book Bans stands firmly and fiercely against the decision and its rationale. To allow parents to "object" to the presence of positive books about the lives and rights of LGBTQIA+ people is to allow them to "object" to the existence of LGBTQIA+ students, parents, educators, and others in the wider community. You cannot βopt outβ of reality, no matter what todayβs majority opinion states. These books belong on shelves and these stories belong in classrooms and curricula.
Our statement in response to the Supreme Court ruling in Mahmoud v Taylor. Image thread with alt text. 1/4

βJonathanβs death should be a national story, a source of collective mourning, a call to arms. But instead, most major media outlets barely mention it. And if they do, they strip it of context, of the racial, historical, spiritual truth of what happened.β

Judy. Blume.
Pay attention to this bigotry. This is exactly the playbook Rs want to enact nationwide: declare anything they don't like "porn" (including anything about queer/trans folx or BIPOC history/themes) and then ban it, fine anyone who stocks the books, and worse. FL peeps, fight this!
