Sen. Padilla (D-CA) "¿Cómo puede el pueblo salvar el pueblo? Alzando nuestras voces, marchando, organizando nuestras comunidades, y votando."

This is how we save ourselves: marching, organizing & voting. ✊🗳️ #SOTU2026

Together we can build a thriving economy & future. votolatino.org/vote

One important thing to note about this SOTU is that it's just a bad speech on top of everything.

(Also, what is up with Trump's hair? I guess no one had the courage to tell him he had ablittle flag of hair poking up.)

I once coached a teacher who told his 4th graders they could make up statistics to put in their essays. So they would write something like, "According to friends dot com, 94% of kids like friends."

Apparently, those kids grew up to work in the Trump administration.

There is just a lot of wrong history in that speech. So much for meritocracy!

Does Trump want the Stock Market to perform the halftime show next year?

I’ve long thought that schools could learn a lot from summer camps.

Every Living Thing: The Great and Deadly Race to Know All Life The Great and Deadly Race to Know All Life

Every Living Thing by Jason Roberts. I listened to the audio but may get the physical book just so it can be part of my library.

Gotta transfer them to prisons where their cronies profit.

Weird. I've been traveling to DC for years, and currently you can't walk to many sights because the snow hasn't been removed.

Went to a bunch of local stores today and everyone had free whistles on offer.

DHS's repeated claim is that there is only chaos in MN because they aren't allowed "in the jails." Even that's a lie. Lies all the way down.

I know there will be a lot of video dissection and discussion of this morning's shooting. What I need the media to ask is why agents engaged a man who was peacefully filming them, and why they continued once he backed away.

He was filming and they engaged him; he backed away and they tackled him.

Can anyone nominate someone for a Nobel Peace Prize? We should nominate the residents of the greater Twin Cities.

My 76 year old mom was screaming at the TV. They say you get more conservative as you age, but nah.

You may want to save this, in case you want to use it soon. No reason.

That isn’t the policy, though? Each state that’s been successful has taken a different strategy. For example, LA hired incredibly smart people, spent years studying and writing curriculum, and created a truly good program (Guidebooks) that is relevant for their students.

If they aren't differentiating, then they only think they are doing the science of reading.

Then you ask: "So you pardoned someone when you didn't know the whole story, just because someone asked you to? Don't you think a president should do more research before pardoning someone who's been convicted by a jury of drug smuggling?"

When I knew I was moving away from Texas and would no longer have readily-available biscuits, I spent the next several months learning to make them. Probably the most important tip I got was placing them close together on the sheet. It took them over the top.

Watching a documentary about Mr. Rogers and I'm pretty sure everyone in the president's Cabinet needs to watch an episode or two every day.

So often, leaders invoke the science of reading to justify actions that have nothing to do with the science.
