Breaking news: today I learned that French publisher Norma Éditions has a book out on influential painter Joan Mitchell and her dogs, and that an edition in English is forthcoming later this year. Here's Mitchell at the beach with her poodle, Georges du Soleil
Lately I’ve been dealing with bad fatigue so today I had some energy to iron the linen and wrap it around wood panel to start working on a new piece for the series on the wall. Maybe you remember the first two. I have two more ideas to complete the series.

New small paintings for sale--A small painting inspired by street fashion. Being in Lagos, although brief was such a balm to the experience of being Black/African in Vancouver. A joy to capture the slice of life there.

Quiet day in the studio. I’ve been working on some new ideas, testing some mediums, trying to decide which way to create my next pieces. It is always slow process to wait for the patches to dry, to see the trial results.
It's been a while since I came back to check here, I have been busy in my studio creating drawings for the upcoming Art on Paper NY. I will be showing ten new works with Uprise Art gallery in September. Stay tuned! : )
I named this one “Sitting Under the Summer Sun”, dreamy blue, feels like floating in the sky, taking a moment and imagining myself sitting on that chair. Art is for the upcoming show at Uprise Art gallery this autumn.
