chicago bears maybe moving to hammond Indiana? did hell freeze over?
asking for a friend: is it illegal to burn sports paraphernalia or was that right taken away too?

made a lil football account that reposts #NFL news here on Bluesky.
introducing @fromthegridiron.bsky.social
it was fun building and deploying something :)
in the wise words of my forefathers I say to youβ¦hell yeah brother congrats
where are all the #nfl accounts to follow here?
this is edge level new tech
lmao
first dungeons and dragons sessions as a dungeon master was a great success. Dragons of Stormwreck Isles is such a great campaign to start with.
everyone was new to the game and everyone said yes to a second session :)

whats the tea?
truly grateful to those who beta test apps. i send out a TestFlight a bit about for Campaign Codex. someone has been giving me phenomenal feedback. itβs so motivating.

built a cli tool awhile back that does a query cost analysis ($$) with @clickhouse.com by looking at the system table and doing some simple maths with your infra cost.
curious if people care about their dollar cost per query vs. cpu cost etc

this 100% describes my feeling too. i get excited about a project and coding. then i realize claude is going to code everything (probably lets be real) and the joy goes away. dont get me wrong i like seeing a product come to life but it also sucks at the same time?? idk
is elixir all that itβs cracked up to be? hard to get over not having types and im not a fan of the gradual typing thatβs being introduced
ive been in a couple software engineering communities and so far my favorites are:
1. clojure: everyone is very kind and willing to help. lots of senior engineers in the space
2. swift/ios: lots and lots of builder here which is awesome. indie dev is alive. everyone is willing to answer questions.
TestFlight build updated: testflight.apple.com/join/sHhM6ZyB
feel free to give it a whirl! all feedback appreciated :) been fun hackin' on it.
Campaign Codex screenshot of Combat Tracker
added Conditions capabilities to the Combat Tracker in Campaign Codex!
you are now able to track conditions on your adventurers during combat!
updates coming to TestFlight soon :)

the future is typed
long live typed languages
the only language i get a similar feeling with is c# and even though syntax is similar i think its due to ecosystem and the DevEx around those languages.
IntelliJ, Rider, Visual Studio....all of it just feels so so solid to work in. feels like a super power.
as much as i love other languages (esp those that focus more on FP) i always come back to java.
something about it being my first language and it feeling like home just "feels right". does anyone else feel this way with their first language?
writing some gleam be like
glad you are βpretty happy these daysβ :) sometimes that is enough!
cheers to doing a project just for fun without personal or external pressure to βkeep goinβ
got my first feature request email for Whenish from a user who uses the app!
is this what builders feel all the time when users use their apps and give feedback?
im hooked
download Whenish here π

i feel the same tbh
looking @ rust, zig, c++ for cool low level prog projects then you see an unsigned int and alloc andβ¦
claude made a pretty decent one for me but unfortunately xcode doesnt allow you do customize at much as intellij :(
its winter and ive been running inside. posts will continue when its nice out cause i hate the cold
