Followed both, game looks incredible
I can get like, 22-26 really quickly if anyone's interested
Knowing nothing else about the game, the colour palette alone is incredibly striking โค๏ธ

A screenshot from our upcoming game Amberspire. One of the factions, Dais, has arrived in the city. To the right is a portrait of one of their members. To the left, a description: The city has drawn the attention of a new off-world faction... Dais Dais are a nomadic religious order in a fervent quest to maintain the corporeality of their god. Small cadres travel the galazy in search of artifacts, converts, and political assistance to maintain the inertia of their faith. It is rumoured that the Dais knights have supernatural abilities, but these are so rarely seen they cannot be resolved. The Dais favor adds two dice storage spaces, and the penalty removes two dice storage spaces.
Build a city on the ruins of an outer space mausoleum, manage resources to construct and maintain buildings, and preserve balance with the local ecosystem.
Oh, and try not to get on the wrong side of the strange factions keeping tabs on you.
Amberspire is out on May 6th!

I might be a little older than you because my playground chats were about marbles and flippo's ๐ฌ๐ด
here's how and why:
I'm reworking how Splash works in Isoterick. I want the "splash" stamp to extend the basic effects of the spell, so how does that translate to a spell that destroys a tile? I figured the best solution was "it destroys them a little". The ground now has hit points

Not one decision in "my" previous game was more impactful than deciding that if everything was destructible, then so too should the floor be
If you're looking for teeth though, hit me up, I know a guy.
This is where I indie dev.
Thanks! The plant is a peace lily and the case is a Fractal Design North in charcoal. (not the XL version)
Shout out to the time a client took so long to pay me that I had to loan money to cover rent
This is where I indie dev.
I've been using USian for a while now because the term 'American' seems hopelessly confusing to me
Education colleagues in the Netherlands are gleefully going all in on generative AI and I'm very very tired.
MAJOR ANNOUNCE :
fuck AI assets, who needs that!

I have to say I've never seen someone twiddling their thumbs in indie development ๐ฅฒ, the sentiment was more to avoid the opposite, where you get a bottleneck because there's only one person who can check off certain tasks
I paid like 1800 for this PC last year, its 2800 now :')
Never argue about something that could be prototyped in the same amount of time.
Adding toys is always worth the time.
More people on your team should be able to do more different things.
Building should be playful, invest in tools, assets and processes that reinforce that.
Don't reinvent the wheel, reinvent the carriage instead.

And last is... me! Hi, I'm looking for work. I was the animation lead for Wanderstop. I rigged every character, set the animation style, hired and set schedules, and did a huge amount of animation and anim code, FX work, and more. Enjoy my new demo reel and then email me at jobs@auratriolo.com!
Next is our game designer Steve (www.stevejmar.com) who truly made a huge impact on how Wanderstop felt to play. They were a constant pleasure to work with and truly disciplined and thorough in every way you'd want such a pivotal role to be.
Next is animator and artist @anabell.zone . In addition to providing many of the most iconic animations in the game (she absolutely DEFINED boro's energy) she also contributed UI design and FX work, and helped with some of my anim code. Super talented and quick to learn, scoop her up
Next is cinematics lead @lizc3d.bsky.social . God, what can you even say? Her INCREDIBLE work on the wanderstop trailer (I know yall know the panic attack scene) is half the reason anyone knew about the game. From previs to final, she has it all. Top tier talent. bsky.app/profile/lizc...
First up, concept artist Nathalie: @loopyyylupe.bsky.social Hugely talented as an illustrator, IMO nathalie's strength comes in the ways she understands gamedev on top of that. Nearly every character model in Wanderstop was made paintover-critiques from her that kept everything sharp and stylish.
Hey yall. As you've seen here - unfortunately a large portion of the ivy road team was laid off today, myself included. We're all looking for work! Gonna do a quick thread about those who were laid off today and why you should hire them:
