It’s wild, right? I had hopes that the arts could wrangle this new tech away from its darkest paths, but the recklessness of the tech industry’s push on all of it is unlike anything I’ve ever seen..

It’s a staggeringly bad move for Ray Ban unless they’re *trying* to get bought out
this is like
the thesis statement of our times
We* once set wearable tech back a decade by relentlessly mocking Google Glass wearers, we can do it again with Zuck’s Pervert Glasses.

The killing of Iranian children during an illegal war is an impeachable offense (not to mention a grave crime) and Congress should really act like it.
15 Republicans in the Senate could end this nightmare before it somehow gets even worse.
With the exception of some extremely cringe late-90s N64 marketing where Nintendo of America was trying to be IN YOUR FACE about games like... Mario Party
Think of it as redirecting the Death Star
Oh hey, thanks so much, that is awesome to hear!
Gonna start by offering the audience a choice of two pills
Remember when Trump announced tariffs right when Nintendo was announcing the Switch 2, and the delayed preorders were one of the first big tangible consumer-facing effects of letting a known dipshit make up random rules about international trade? Well, if you fuck around with Nintendo...

I'm a keynote presenter at Creative Works West 2026; come see me try to say something inspiring to creative pros and not just scream a manifesto about how we should burn down the internet & live in artist communes & make zines… Details & also other stuff in my newsletter: mailchi.mp/rob-sheridan...
Couldn't agree with you more, but I'm just talking in terms of actionable things music fans can do right now with their listening habits.
It's Bandcamp Friday tomorrow btw, 100% of your purchase goes to the artist! Go indie and never look back
congress needs to stop this madman
Another day, another career-ending thing to say for any other politician in US history.
We should abolish the United States Senate. It serves no purpose.
I wrote a bit more on the circuit-bent PS2 (with more photos) and how recontextualizing gameplay becomes part of the creative process:
It is me with DRUGS™️ in my office, holding the two custom circuit-bent PS2s he made for me.
"The Hunter" model custom circuit-bent PS2 by DRUGS™️ with my name painted on it and custom green LED skull knobs.
Details of the custom skull knobs
"The Speedrunner" model custom circuit-bent PS2 by DRUGS™️ in my office, with its glitch visuals appearing on televisions throughout the room.
Behold, circuit-bent PS2s custom-made for me by DRUGS™️ ! They even have custom skull knobs! These are incredibly powerful glitch instruments that bend the games themselves (not the video output) in real-time, glitching polygons & textures to completely deconstruct the visuals from within. 🧵
GET THAT LADY DOGS OUT THAT HOUSE NEOOOOOOOW
Democrats may not be able to prevent Mullin's confirmation, but they can certainly turn his track record of offense and stupidity into two days of televised humiliation so spectacular that he is wounded in Trump's eyes from day 1. That is the job.
Ultimately the best way to support musicians is to sign up for their emails & buy their albums/merch/tix direct from them. Just like visuals artists with their Patreons/etc, and journalists with their newsletters. Even signing up for free matters! We gotta support media independence any way we can.

I took @bcmerchant.bsky.social's advice and have been trying Qobuz, which pays artists the most and feels like a streaming service for adults. Tasteful presentation, good editorial features, a focus on audio quality, transparent AI policies, & a free trial of Soundiiz to transfer your Spotify stuff.
Spotify starves artists to pay this fuckin clown millions. It can feel daunting to leave if you've lived in it for years, but streaming music is a utility now, it's easier than you think to swap providers (and bring your playlists/library with you). Here's a good guide from @bcmerchant.bsky.social:
“No front-page stories in NYT, WSJ, WaPo. No mention on NBC and CBS Sunday Shows. No stand alone segments on Evening News shows. A death count on par with the OKC bombing is relegated to the back page.” www.columnblog.com/p/corporate-...
A lot of people say AI isn't very good for the world and its outputs are routinely unreliable, but these haters fail to see how it's revolutionizing how we incinerate schoolchildren.

Catching video feedback spirits with VJ Burle Avant and the Eternal Reseach team, with their Demon Box instrument, Burle’s impressive modular rig, and my circuit-bent Cybershot. It was cool to meet Burle, who was the VJ for MTV’s iconic late-90s dance/electronic show AMP (hence the music). 1/
