As a writer who works in marketing, I’ll tell you absolutely shit products can sell millions purely off great advertising.
A lot of self-published authors I know are doing well because they’re active in their community and doing readings, events, etc. It’s just trying to be found.

And how little use their experience is to the people. It seems so far the time teaches them how to wheel and deal, and that nothing happens without money. But not how to leverage those lessons for the good of their constituents.
Now we're playing USSR in Afghanistan, as if we don't know better.
China is wondering how it’s possible we went late 80s Soviet Russia while many of the US leaders from that time are still leading.
… reminding Americans of the war is more likely to rouse anger and criticism, whereas simply sprinkling in updates can satisfy curiosity without opening themselves up to critique.
My take:
1. Americans aren’t interested in another Iraq or Afghanistan. Showing the footage would only call that to mind.
2. Much of the war thus far has been aerial and sometimes unmanned. Footage from either may well be more chilling than impressive.
3. War makes money, but sours attitudes…
They tell you not to make any of these compositional choices.

Echo chambers are just a rebrand of the real problem — your ideas and beliefs being influenced for a fee.
The thing is apps like Bluesky and Hey.Cafe are built around feeds, allowing us to focus on exactly the topics we want. Chances are that’s going to shape the POVs we encounter too, but no more than any club or community event.
