In general episode 2 was vastly better than episode 1
A problem with reboots is they tend to spend too long going "LOOK THINGS ARE DIFFERENT NOW"
Already Joel Kim Booster is a strong highlight.
Moving on to episode 2, hopefully this is an improvement.
Particularly because she is always set (in the first episode) right before Vanessa Bayer's character who so far is written as the woke feelings police DEI HR manager. 🤨
Idk it's just cheap and lazy to go "and here's the young character who doesn't learn and just watches tiktok and YouTube and that's the whole character".
I'm not saying they won't go anywhere with it but initial impression is booooo, be better.
Really dislike the writing of the interns.
TikTok girl feels like a basic misogynistic and anti-youth billboard.
There's this long tirade by Dr Cox (of course) berating her and so far it feels like she exists to be punched down at.
I know Dr Cox is just meant to be an asshole, but
Kind of heavy handed on some of the themes but I'll let it slide for the first episode.
The writing in terms of general plot and pacing feels okay.
After 1 episode of the Scrubs reboot my thoughts are:
