Congress played a significant role in creating the “imperial presidency” [by] passing legislation that delegates its authorities to the executive. Doing this avoids “tough votes” in Congress and results in Congress abdicating its constitutional role.
Mike Johnson seems to think (or at least would try to have us believe) that following the Constitution “plays right into the hands of the enemy.” Perhaps he needs to do some thoughtful reflection on who the enemy really is. #holdfast
Noem keeps insisting her officers “follow protocol and procedure.” But if those protocols themselves violate people’s constitutional rights, that defense is meaningless.

Trump’s boast that US munitions are “virtually unlimited” and wars can be fought “forever” is aimed at one audience: the Pentagon officials and analysts who’ve been warning that our high‑end missile stocks are nowhere near unlimited.

If “America First” meant what Trump says it does, Americans wouldn’t be stranded in the Middle East while our own government admits it has no real evacuation plan, and several of the very countries we’re telling people to flee don’t even have a U.S. ambassador on the ground to coordinate it.
Noem’s response is outlandish and should alarm everyone. Even if you take her “probable cause” claim at face value, it would not justify warrantless entries into homes, and it certainly would not justify continuing to detain someone after they’ve produced proof of citizenship.
This authoritarian regime, emboldened by unbounded power and zero accountability, deals out “unimaginable cruelty,” even a Trump-appointed judge blasts. Targeting innocents just because they can.
