A good rule of thumb for commenting is to comment /why/ the code is doing something rather than /what/ it's doing. And you only need to do that when the code is doing something non-obvious.
The comments on the variables are A+. You won't need the comments like the ones in the functions when you get more comfortable with coding. They're essentially just translating the GDScript into English, and you won't need that anymore when you're fluent reading GDScript ๐ช

Played this demo, and it's a delight. A chill drive around game with good controls, soothing music, and all in all a mostly calm and pleasant experience.
