Poker face. Egad.
"Poke Face" is modern day Columbo. I found it cute, not stupid, but not too intellectually or emotionally taxing.
Welp...I passed my citizenship test and the interview went well.
I'm happy to be giving a talk down the road from my school next week.

I'm weirdly frustrated today because someone cited my work and they seem to fundamentally misunderstand it. What is bothering me is not that they argued against a bad interpretation of my position, but that they actually purport to agree with the falsely attributed position.
It certainly doesn't appear to be accidental either.
This is so helpful for some stuff I've been thinking about. Thank you for sharing!
I worked from home today because of a water main break. I don't generally do so and I'm far more efficient in my office. It was nice to be in front of the fire all day though. It made me realize how nice it would be to have a dog cuddled up next to me in moments like that.
Well, I should have said, you look sharp in the gown! I'm glad it was a nice ceremony.
I really love the Finnish system and it's originality or willingness to push against the grain. That said, the gown looks sharp!
A still from the Canadian movie "Fubar". Two men sitting on a porch, with a bicycle in the foreground.
Gonna tell my kids this was Heated Rivalry.
I'll be a part of commencement ceremonies in two State Penitentiaries this spring/summer and I couldn't be looking forward to it any more.
Beautiful place. Enjoy the stay!
...and I'm fairly confident I'll come to like this experience just as much as my previous one.
I really enjoyed last semester. I wish I didn't have to switch institutions, but if all goes well, I'll switch back and forth every semester.
I'm teaching at a new (to me) State Penitentiary tomorrow. I'm excited to meet my students. I'm nervous about process and getting around and stuff as I've only visited briefly. I'm sure it'll be fine.
It's nerve-wracking to be in a different country and have to apply to renew your passport. I received an update today that it's printing though, so this is good news.
The WHO statement on the US withdrawal. I think it's the definition of taking the high road.

As a Canadian, I'm not confused. Seconded.
Thank you.
I'm happy to state that a peer commentary I wrote with a student at Utica has been accepted in AJOB. Grace VanEtten and I have published "Why a Rejection of Principlistic Equality Risks Harming People with Disabilities".
And our new President sent a thoughtful and transparent plan about the near future out to the campus community. This is something we haven't seen in an awfully long time.
Now I go into a ridiculous meeting for the afternoon. I'll stick with "it is a good day" despite this.
The administration at Utica has retracted their plan to remove all the associated minors with the philosophy department. I don't know if it will mean more of us will keep our jobs or not. But it is a good thing for the institution.
I also submitted an article for review today. It is a good day.
I have my naturalization interview scheduled.
The blind melon album featuring the bee girl.
Love the glasses, as always.
It's difficult to explain it now π.
